Worst Come To Worst: Dilated Peoples - My musical choice of the day and Rising Star Statistics

Good evening everyone!

In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Put Your Head in My Shoulder from the artist Paul Anka.

Worst Come To Worst: Dilated Peoples

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Worst Come To Worst from the hip-hop group Dilated Peoples.

Today I wanted to return to one of my favorite genres, so it was time to bring another hip-hop song. In this case, I chose a group that is relatively unknown, at least internationally, but they have a song that is very good and that I thought was worth bringing today. I'm talking about Worst Come To Worst by Dilated Peoples.

My history with the genre began about eight years ago, when I started playing the multiplayer version of GTA San Andreas. At that time, the friends I used to hang out with would listen to hip-hop songs by artists like Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. That was my first contact with the genre, but it only took a few years for me to continue listening to more artists in the genre and for it to become one of my most frequent choices when listening to music.

After learning about the history of the group N.W.A about five years later, I delved deeper into the genre and decided to look for more artists and songs that went beyond the traditional and famous ones. That's how I ended up discovering artists like Nas, Eric B, DMX, Coolio, Ludacris, Rakim, and groups like Hood Took Me Under, Cypress Hill, Bone Thugs N Harmon, Wu-Tang-Clan, and today's group, Dilated Peoples.

Beyond the fact that I really liked the song, I don't know much about the group, nor have I had the opportunity to listen to more of their songs.

Dilated Peoples is an American rap group consisting of rapper Michael Perretta (Evidence), rapper Rakaa Iriscience, and producer DJ Babu. They began their musical career in the early 1990s, gradually earning their place in the hip-hop music industry.

Worst Come To Worst is the most successful song Dilated People has released since its inception. It is part of their album Expansion Team, released in 2001, which enjoyed considerable commercial success mainly due to this song. The song has accumulated 87 million views on Spotify and around 60 million on YouTube. This shows that, despite the passing of time, their greatest hit has transcended two decades.
