Tiny White Mushrooms After the Rain

Rainy season has arrived here… that's why mushrooms are popping up!

‎They seem to appear overnight, and I just love spotting them.

‎I found these little white ones growing right in our dark, rich soil.

‎Because they are so bright white, they really stand out and are easy to spot. But because they are so tiny, taking clear photos was a bit of a challenge. And also, there were red ants everywhere. 🥲

‎I had to be extra careful not to get too close coz one wrong move and ouch! 😖

‎I took my time and managed to capture some shots safely.

‎Then I went back to check on them after two days… and they were still there.

‎Some had grown a little bigger and looked more mature.

‎It was wonderful to see them develop.

‎And curious to know what they were, I searched them on Google Lens, and it told me they belong to the genus Termitomyces. In Tagalog, we call them "kabuteng saging".

‎And here’s the interesting part about it... These mushrooms grow together with termites. So, that explains why ants were all around them. Though they’re not termites, they’re still relatives, right? 😂 Close enough. HAHA. It makes perfect sense now why they love that spot so much.

‎Until my next fascinating story...

Thanks for the visit! Have a lovely day. Buh-bye. 💗🌸
