Beyond the Myths: Understanding Women's Role and True Empowerment!

in Indiaunited10 days ago (edited)

Greetings Hivers!🤗 🤠

A few years ago my cousin had a daughter. I expected him to be overjoyed but instead of being happy he said, "What a disaster! Now I have to start saving up for her dowry." That single sentence made me realize that why in our society having a daughter is still seen as a burden. I was like how the "hell" people can think about it?

According to Islam and the real world daughters are not a hardship they are a mercy from ALLAH/GOD. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) promised great rewards for raising daughters with love and care. We really need to change the backward mindset that mourns the birth of a girl or thinks of her only as an expense. This point of view should have to be changed now.

Islamic history is full of examples of women who were empowered and respected like Hazrat Khadija (R.A) who was a successful businesswoman. Islam gives women the freedom to earn their own property and to get an education as long as they stay within reasonable limits. It is important for a women to be in limits too.

Beyond this women often possess a natural capacity for caregiving that goes beyond what many men find comfortable. For instance in cases of nursing the sick or tending to children mostly women readily take on intimate and demanding tasks like tending to personal hygiene and to change the diaper of child even for a male where men might hesitate or feel shy.

Finally while women can stand as equals in contributing to society, their roles are distinct. In this view men often hold a complementary position of leadership and broader oversight with a capacity for deeper and long-term foresight. While a woman's thinking can also be profound this deeper vision is a core part of the traditional masculine role.

Nowadays the movements like "Aurat March" often have demands that go against Islamic teachings and basic norms by asking for unnatural equality. Islam balances the rights and responsibilities of both genders and if everyone stays within their bounds we can have a beautiful society.
