We are in the second to the last 'Ember' months of the year 2025 amidst the fragile btc market condition. Weather the factors that affect btc in this current situation is directly having any effect on the local market is what I do not know.
As I went to market today alongside @umoh100 and @enwang to buy fish and other seafood products at Ishiet market here at Uruan, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, I notice a shift changes in the market prices of fish and other items.

The quantity of fish that usually goes for 50 hive for 8,918.31 NGN now goes for 200 hive of 35,673.26 NGN.

We had to longer a bit while going around to see if we could get the fish at bit lower in price than what we saw, but all prove abortive. We had to buy since there is no other options.

Even the crayfish price also skyrocket from 35Hive to 50 Hive of 8,918.31 NGN at ₦176 per hive.

Some of the market women attributed the hike to drop in water volume that does not allow the fishermen to get enough catch.
By and large we had what we went for even though it means paying more than what was budgetted for. Is that how the prices begins to rise in your area market?
