Finally, what they had been waiting for so long had happened. They had been invited to the biggest show in the province. This show was the most prestigious musical event in the entire state of Buskeria. They would be the featured guests and the main act of the day. They were none other than the band TAW. This band had been trying for years to be part of this show because it gave a lot of exposure to emerging singers. In fact, everyone who went through it received a great boost to their future career. That's why TAW so desperately wanted to participate and sing at the big concert.

Since the organizers of the event saw that they had stood out and were very good, even better than several singers in the area, they chose them to represent the province, and that was a great privilege. The show would be on a Monday at 2 p.m. It would start at that time and end well into the night. It would be great for anyone who could go; the best of the best would be there. This is where our friend Ed comes into the picture. He is the band's personal driver and the one in charge of taking them to the big concert that day.

Por fin había ocurrido lo que llevaban ya mucho tiempo esperando. Habían sido invitados al mayor show de la provincia. Ese show era el mayor exponente musical de todo el estado de Buskeria. En el show ellos serían las estrellas invitadas y los principales exponentes del día. Ellos eran nada más y nada menos que la banda llamada TAW. Esta banda llevaba años intentado ser parte de este show porque les daba mucha visibilidad a los cantantes emergentes. De hecho todo el que pasaba por el tenía un gran impulso en su carrera futura. Por eso TAW deseaba tanto poder participar y cantar en el gran concierto asociado.

Como los organizadores de ese evento vieron que ellos se habían destacado mucho y eran muy buenos, incluso más que varios cantantes de la zona los eligieron para representar la provincia, y eso era un gran privilegio. El show sería un lunes a las 2 de la tarde. A esa hora comenzaría y terminaría bien adentrada la noche. Sería genial para todo el que pudiera ir, estaría lo mejor de lo mejor. Aquí es donde entra nuestro amigo Ed en escena. El es el conductor personal de la banda y el encargado de llevarlos ese día al gran concierto.

The big day arrived; it was early Monday morning. Ed got up and prepared the band's official van. He filled the gas tank and inflated the tires. He also checked the engine for any problems. It was a little noisy, but that was normal; it was a classic van. He suggested the band leave earlier to be prepared for any unexpected issues, because you never know. And since the concert was so important to them, it was essential to arrive on time and without delays. But the band couldn't leave at the time he suggested. They needed to do a few final rehearsals before going on stage for the audience. Since Ed had no authority over the band, he was just their driver, he couldn't tell them anything more. He simply parked the van outside the hotel where they were staying and waited.

Several hours passed, but then they got in and left. The delay didn't really bother them much because it was only noon and the concert wasn't until 2 p.m. And since the truck was quite fast despite being old, they were all super confident, including Ed, that they would arrive on time. But they hadn't taken into account that it was rush hour. Thousands of people were leaving work for lunch, and the traffic was horrendous at that time. As a result, they could barely move because of the number of cars in front and behind them. They couldn't believe it; even though the truck was fast, it was impossible to go fast.

El gran día llegó, era lunes bien temprano por la mañana. Ed se levantó y preparó la camioneta oficial de la banda. Le llenó el tanque de combustible y llenó de aire los neumáticos. Se demoraron varias horas, pero luego se montaron y salieron. La verdad el retraso no los afectaba mucho porque aún eran las 12 del mediodía y el concierto no era hasta las 2 de la tarde. Y como la camioneta era bastante rápida a pesar de ser vieja estaban súper confiados incluido Ed de que llegarían a tiempo. Pero no tuvieron en cuenta que ha esa hora es el horario pico. Miles de personas salen de sus trabajos para almorzar. Y el tráfico es horrible a esa hora. Las consecuencias fueron que no podían avanzar casi por la cantidad de autos detrás y delante. Because they were going so slowly, they lost a lot of time and became extremely worried. If they were late, the concert would start without them, and that would be disastrous for their careers and everything that meant to them. They regretted not listening to Ed and leaving when he told them to. But there was nothing they could do except ask the traffic to move quickly. However, going so slowly created an even bigger problem. Because the van was going so slowly, it overheated. The old engine couldn't withstand the pressure and broke down. They all had to get out and push the van to the side of the road so it could be checked. Nervousness and worry turned into panic. The big concert—they wouldn't make it on time. Their only hope was that Ed, who knew the van best, could do something.

Luckily for them, he was able to check the engine and repair it, and they were able to continue. The time they lost helped clear the traffic jam. When they could finally proceed without traffic, Ed floored the van. They arrived on time and were able to be the stars of the concert that day. But they will never forget the lesson; they will never again leave just in time. They will always follow Ed's foresighted example.

Como iban tan lento perdieron mucho tiempo así que se preocuparon muchísimo. Si llegaban tarde el concierto empezaría sin ellos y eso sería fatal para sus carreras y lo que eso significaba para ellos. Se lamentaron de no hacerle caso a Ed y haber salido cuando el les había dicho. Pero ya no había nada que pudieran hacer salvo pedir que aquel trafico pasara rápido. Pero ir tan lento creó otro problema aún más grave. Como la camioneta iba tan lento se sobrecalentó. El viejo motor no resistió esa presión y se averío. Todos tuvieron que bajarse y empujar la camioneta hacia a un lado de la carretera para poder revisarla. El nerviosismo y la preocupación se transformaron en pánico. El gran concierto, no llegarían a tiempo. Su única esperanza era que Ed pudiera hacer algo que era quien mejor conocía a la camioneta.

Por suerte para todos ellos el pudo revisar el motor y repararlo y pudieron continuar. El tiempo que perdieron sirvió para que el atasco de vehículos se disipara. Cuando por fin pudieron seguir sin trafico Ed aceleró a todo lo que daba la camioneta. Llegaron a tiempo y pudieron ser las estrellas del concierto ese día. Pero nunca olvidarán la lección, no volverán a salir con el tiempo justo. Seguirán siempre el ejemplo previsor de Ed.
