My Peanuts Harvest Experience
Yohh... It's a good day to write this out here and share with you all my recent experience during the harvest of my peanuts on the farm.
First off, I don't know exactly what specie of scorpion is this but we indeed met this visitor on the farm that almost caused a scene during the harvest. I'm glad that it didn't sting any body from the people that came to help me out on the farm, it would have a whole different story that day. I don't know the species and don't even know what remedy is for victims of this specie of scorpion sting.
It's of recent I got to know a little bit about the scorpion although the info I got isn't reliable because there's no proper source to back the story up but allot of people were saying different things all together about the specie of scorpion, how it's medicinal and how costly people buy this particular type of scorpion.
The harvest was quite hectic and we couldn't even finish in 3days. The first day we uprooted all the peanuts on the farm and left them there to continue the next day.
The results were good and I had a lot of harvest. We came back the next day and continued from where we stopped. We had to drive some old methods of plugging out groundnuts from the plant.
I made a small hole and crossed it with a stick where I use small force to hit the groundnut off the roots as you can see in the picture above. It was more like division of labour where others where plugging, some hitting and the rest gathering for packaging.
When we were done plugging the peanuts, I packaged them inside the sacks so we can transport them back home, while I was preparing for that, I came across these animals you can't escape them on the farm, the ants.
I didn't cause them trouble and so we didn't get any of their troubles in return throughout our work on the farm. Normally these sets of ants can be dramatic specially when you intrude into their territory but we were careful not to and so we didn't get interrupted by them...
Am glad at last I had a successful harvest despite the tiredness and few incidents that almost interrupted the harvest.
Thank you for stopping by..
