Photo walk across the Terijoki beach in #monochrome mood .:. 16 visuals from the land of sand, stones & seagulls

2026-apr-1719w-h.jpg
The Baltic sea coast at Terijoki is the closest point I can get to touch the World Ocean. The land of sand and boulders, pines and seagulls. Look what I found during my walk around the tide this April.

There are no maples growing on the shore; this leaf probably had a long journey before this stop.

Dunes in the water. Almost natural monochrome: I processed the capture using B-W conversion but original shot looks apparently the same.

Pieces of reeds and sand.

A bridge (minimalistic style).

Love is ...

Low tide.

Seagalls coven.

Seagulls leave their ephemera traces as well.

I just wish I could spend more time with my camera pointed at those dunes and ripples.

Coastal pines have to try hard to cling their roots firmly into the sand.

I found a rust-eaten but still recognizable horseshoe! might be about a hundred years old...

Some boulders are bigger than others.

This seaside is a perfect place to erect a pyramide or two, to leave your ephemeral mark in the world.

Doesn't this cardboard cup look out of place in this land of sand, rocks, and seagull cries? Perhaps it does... a bit. But I was glad to taste this hot coffee — good contrasts usually prove appropriate. This contrast was a good one. Ok, let me round up my blog on this coffee note. See you next time!
