72-Day Streak and the Surprise of Getting Aurendrak from LUX’S FAVOR

There’s a small habit I’ve been keeping up with lately in Splinterlands: spinning LUX’S FAVOR every day. The feature is simple—Spin the wheel to claim daily rewards! The longer the streak we maintain, the better the rewards can potentially get.

At first, I didn’t think much of it. Just spin, see what I get, and move on with the game. Then do the same thing the next day. And the day after that. Until one day I realized that my streak had already reached 72 days.

And it was on that 72nd day that luck finally came knocking.

I got Aurendrak Goldwarden.

Not just an ordinary card. Aurendrak is a Legendary Dragon Archon, one of the cards that plays an important role in The Arena Vanguard. I actually had to look at the result twice. Not because I didn’t trust the system, but because a reward like this was definitely not something I expected every time I pressed the spin button.

Normally, I spin without expecting much. If I get something good, great. If it’s just an ordinary reward, that’s fine too. I’ll spin again tomorrow.

But this time felt different.

There was this little burst of excitement that’s hard to explain. Not only because I got a Legendary card, but because the card came from a habit I had maintained for 72 days.

I wasn’t specifically chasing Aurendrak.

I was simply being consistent with my daily spins.

Apparently, sometimes luck really does come to those who keep showing up.

Aurendrak: More Than Just a Golden Card

After the excitement settled down a little, I started looking at Aurendrak more seriously.

Aurendrak Goldwarden is a Legendary Dragon Archon inspired by legendary community member GoldMatters. According to his story, Aurendrak was born with glowing golden scales and spent his youth exploring the royal vaults of Draykh-Nahl.

What’s interesting is that he wasn’t interested in the wealth stored inside.

He was interested in history.

He eventually mastered Gold Infusion, an ability that combines dragonfire, enchanted gold, and ancient runes to create living battle cards.

So Aurendrak isn’t simply a dragon with a golden appearance designed to look fancy. He has a strong identity of his own: Guardian of rarity, Keeper of stories, Protector of the Splinterlands’ golden legacy.

And now, a small part of that story has become part of my collection.

Of course, that feels pretty good.

But what interests me even more is what Aurendrak brings to battle.

Aurendrak has Tactics, allowing us to give Flank to a unit in the first position or Void to any unit.

Flank grants Reach to the unit in the second position when the conditions are met. Meanwhile, Void reduces magic damage by 50%, or reduces a magic attack with power 1 to 0 damage.

That means Aurendrak isn’t a card that simply relies on having Legendary status. It offers strategic choices.

And for me, that’s exactly what makes a card interesting.

The Lesson from 72 Days

I’ve been spinning for 72 days. I probably don’t remember most of the rewards I received along the way. Some were ordinary. Others made me happy. But I kept the streak going.

Then one day, a reward arrived that made me stop and say, “Wait… seriously?”

Of course, I don’t expect every streak to end with an Aurendrak. Luck is still luck. There are no guarantees.

But if I hadn’t spun that day, the opportunity would never have existed in the first place.

That’s what I find interesting about this feature.

Because maybe, just like in my experience, the best rewards sometimes arrive when we’ve stopped expecting too much.

Now the Challenge Is Different

Getting Aurendrak turns out not to be the end of the story.

Instead, it creates a new question: how do I use him properly?

I want to experiment with more combinations involving Flank and Void, and see how Aurendrak’s Tactics can change my team composition and help me deal with different battle conditions.

Before, the question was, “How do I get Aurendrak?”

Now it has changed into, “How can I make Aurendrak useful in the arena?”

And I think that’s one of the most enjoyable parts of getting a new card.

Day 72 gave me Aurendrak.

I have no idea what the next day will bring.

But one thing is certain: I’ll be spinning again tomorrow.

After all, I’ve already made it to 72 days.
