Este mundial de futbol nos ha dejado muchas inquietudes, equipos favoritos que se van quedando en el aparato, la realidad es que veremos muchos de estos grandes en los partidos y mientras tanto las jóvenes y nuevas estrellas van surgiendo. Pero sinceramente lo viejo, los aprendidos, han destacado más que los nuevos o batacazos. Muchos de los que se les esperaba más goles, más fuerza han demostrado que están dejando unos récord muy altos para los que vienen. Así que las futuras generaciones tendrán que comenzar muy jóvenes.
También hemos visto jugadores que son de buen corazón, no pelean, ayudan hasta los que recogen los balones, no les tiran la ropa a los que trabajan para recogerla, son de otro mundo en verdad, son buenos ejemplos. I don’t know if those breaks to let players cool off during the World Cup were created solely for that purpose—experts say the goal is actually propaganda or advertising—but I do know they give you a chance to stand up, stretch your legs, use the restroom, and restock the snacks or appetizers. I don’t know if it’s the same for you, but the reality is that we women start picking up every bottle, glass, or cup left lying around; it’s our habit. And if you don’t give your husband a stern look to get him to help tidy up a bit, you’re bound to have an argument later.
This World Cup has raised a lot of questions; we’ve seen favorite teams fall by the wayside. While we’ll still see many of the big names playing, young new stars are emerging at the same time. But honestly, the veterans—the seasoned pros—have stood out more than the newcomers or the surprise underdogs. Many players from whom we expected more goals and power have shown that they are setting the bar incredibly high for those who follow. So, future generations will have to start at a very young age.
We’ve also seen players with good hearts: they don’t pick fights, they help the ball boys, and they don’t toss their gear at the staff responsible for collecting it. They are truly in a league of their own—great role models. These are the things we should highlight and talk about; humility is what makes them truly great for the future. They are making history for those who will come after them.
