To be honest, I never had the opportunity to celebrate my own Birthday during my schooling or college or in my teens, except for one time, during my 1st year High School. My dear Mom prepared a very simple cake on my request for my friends, something which I can never forget in a lifetime. And trust me, I continue making this cake for any wonderful occasion of my children, with the same cake oven my mother used in 70's and 80's.
Both mine and my son's Birthday falls on December with just a day's difference. The above cake was another surprise for me and my son from my sister on December 2025. But this time, she arrived with her children.
Now that my Daughter and Son ae employed, I do get surprise cakes for Birthday's and Wedding Anniversary . These moments are too good, that bring down tears. From a far off land they make an online booking for cakes and on the scheduled day I get a knock on my door, with a cake in a stranger's hand.
For the past 3 years, Iam getting surprise Birthday cakes from my sister, who is also settled with her family in another country.
Getting surprise cakes on your Birthday is one of the best enthusiastic moment. But then, their is a flip side to this story. An emotional moment by cutting the cake alone and virtually communicating with the sender. Sometimes, they too join me for cutting the cake but it is not always possible.
To end with, as of now I have no plans for my next Birthday. But I happily accept whatver comes my way.
