In his crime scene forensic lecture today, Professor Thomas stressed that it is a very important topic and promise to keep the lesson interesting.
To demonstrate the importance of crime scene forensic, he try to get the students to understand the product of their expertise is evidence. And why is evidence is important? Because in any society govern by rule and law, every judgement fot criminal conviction need to be supported by evidence.
And if the crime scene forensic is not done properly and if the crime scene is not preserve in it's most original form then police and investigators can't find the evidence needed to link the suspect and also evidence to support the theory then true suspects might have escaped punishment.
Likewise evidence is also important in STEM education because everything happens for a reason, for good or for bad, thus engineers or designer trying to solve a problem, they would need to derive a model of how they think the problem occur and who or is the source of the problem, they need evidence to support their hypothesis. If they can't find the evidence, then problem cannot be solve and improvement cannot be done.
From above example, we simply cannot afford to have an answer of can't find the evidence. For truth and for justice and progress.
