The ancient mirror

in #travel10 days ago

It was as if I had gone out to hunt reflections that day.

And I just wanted to visit a cultural and historical monument - an ancient sharapana. These are reflections in the water in a very ancient monument, a rock hewn vessel for wine production, a ritual stone of the ancient and mystical Thracians. I hope you have heard of Orpheus, the wine god Dionysius, etc. IMG_20210705_134816.jpg So, to some extent, these are sacred and mystical, very ancient reflections that have gathered a 2800-year history. Imagine going somewhere (here) and looking in a 2800-year-old mirror. It's amazing, isn't it! This is now a simple reflection of a car in a puddle. Although, who knows? 😉 IMG_20210705_1352131.jpg

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Wow thank you for sharing about this fascinating place. Ancient places are truly interesting. I'd definitely love to visit more of them. Have a wonderful week ahead!
