Chelsea fans, I honestly don't know what to make of this one yet. 😂
Just when you think the transfer rumours are starting to calm down, then another big name suddenly pops up, and this time it is Fabián Ruiz from Paris Saint-Germain.

Reports from Spain claim that Chelsea are interested in the 29-year-old midfielder and that Xabi Alonso has personally asked the club to look into bringing him to Stamford Bridge. PSG are reportedly willing to listen to offers in the region of £52 million (€60 million).
And honestly, the first thing that came to my mind was: Why not?
I have watched Ruiz play, and one thing that stands out is how composed he is. He does not look like a player who panics when he receives the ball under pressure. He can carry possession, pick out passes and help control the tempo of a game.
That kind of experience could actually be useful for Chelsea.
Let's be honest, our squad has plenty of young and talented players. But sometimes, you need someone with experience around them. Someone who has been through big games, difficult moments and pressure situations.
Ruiz has played at Napoli and PSG, represented Spain at major tournaments and was part of the Spanish team that won Euro 2024. So this is not a player who is coming from nowhere.
But then I look at that reported £52 million price tag, and I start scratching my head. 😂
At 29, that's a lot of money for a midfielder. Chelsea would need to be absolutely convinced that Ruiz can make an immediate impact.
And this is where Xabi Alonso could make the difference.
If Alonso really wants Ruiz for his system, then perhaps there is something the manager sees that makes the investment worthwhile. Alonso understands midfield football better than most, and if he believes Ruiz can become an important piece of his Chelsea team, then I'm willing to give the idea a chance.
I'm not going to lie, though. I would still prefer Chelsea to be careful with the money.
We have spent a fortune building this squad, and every major transfer now needs to make sense. We don't need to sign players simply because they have big names.
We need players who fit the manager's football.
If Ruiz is that player, then bring him in.
If he is not, keep the money and move on or get another player that best suit the style of the manager.
For now, I'm watching this one with one eye open. 👀😂
Because if Fabián Ruiz eventually arrives at Stamford Bridge, I have a feeling Chelsea fans might quickly understand why Alonso wanted him.
