‎💙 Tosin to Benfica? Honestly, I’m Not Too Worried About This One

When I saw the news about Benfica showing interest in Tosin Adarabioyo, I honestly didn't have the same reaction I normally have when I see Chelsea linked with selling one of our players.

‎This one doesn't really worry me.

‎According to the report, Benfica are interested in Tosin and could be willing to pay around €15 million for the Chelsea defender. Their coach, Marco Silva, is also said to be a big admirer of him, which makes sense because he already worked with Tosin during their time together at Fulham.

‎Tosin has been with Chelsea since 2024 and has made a good number of appearances for the club. I won't sit here and say he has been a bad player because that would not be fair. He has had some good moments and has generally done his job whenever he has been called upon.

‎But looking at Chelsea's situation right now, I don't think every player leaving should automatically be seen as a disaster.

‎The club has a lot of players, and some difficult decisions have to be made. From the names being discussed for the possible clear-out, Tosin is one of those players I have seen mentioned.

‎If the club has already decided that he is not part of the long-term plan, then I don't see why Chelsea fans should panic if Benfica come calling.

‎For me, the most important thing is the fee.

‎If Chelsea can get around €15 million for a player who is not considered a major part of the plans going forward, then perhaps it is a deal worth considering. That money can then be used elsewhere, especially if the manager has identified areas that need strengthening.

‎Of course, I would not want Chelsea to sell him just for the sake of selling. We still need enough quality and experience in defence, and Tosin can certainly provide that.

‎But if the decision has already been made that he can leave, then I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

‎Sometimes as fans, we get attached to players and don't want to see them leave. I understand that feeling because I have been there myself. But football is also about knowing when it is time to move on.

‎So, if Tosin eventually leaves for Benfica, I will wish him all the best. He has played his part at Chelsea, but I don't think this is one of those transfers that should have Blues fans seriously worried.

‎For me, there are much bigger things Chelsea need to sort out. 💙

‎What do you think? Would you accept around €15 million for Tosin, or would you rather Chelsea keep him?
