Some Chelsea departures don't really bother you.
Others make you stop for a moment and think, “Are we really letting him go?”
For me, Trevoh Chalobah is one of those departures.

The news that Chalobah has completed a permanent move to Como brings mixed feelings. I understand why Chelsea are making changes to the squad, but seeing an academy player who has spent so many years around the club leave permanently is still difficult for me.
Chalobah is not one of those Chelsea players who has constantly been in the headlines. He has had his ups and downs, and there have been times when fans questioned whether he was good enough to stay at Stamford Bridge.
But I think it's easy to forget what he actually achieved.
More than 150 appearances for Chelsea is a serious number. He also leaves with some big winners' medals, having been part of teams that won the UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Europa Conference League.
That's a pretty good Chelsea story when you look back at it.
One thing I always appreciated about Chalobah was his ability to play in different positions. Centre-back, right-back… whenever he was needed, he could step in and do a job.
Was he perfect? Definitely not.
But which defender is?
There were games where he looked excellent and others where he struggled. That's football. What matters to me is that he always looked like someone who wanted to prove himself.
Now, at 27, he has another opportunity.
Como have handed him a long-term contract until 2031, and having Cesc Fàbregas in charge makes this move particularly interesting. Maybe Serie A is exactly what Chalobah needs to rediscover his confidence and establish himself as an important player.
And honestly, I hope he does.
Chelsea may be moving in a different direction, but that does not erase what Chalobah contributed to the club. He came through the academy, represented the first team and lifted major trophies in blue.
That's something he should be proud of.
As fans, we sometimes get so caught up in transfers that we forget there are actual people behind these moves. For Chalobah, this is probably an exciting new beginning, even if it feels like a sad ending from the Chelsea side.
