The early goal from Alexis Mac Allister made me think Argentina would settle into their usual rhythm and control the game. Messi's delivery was perfect, and Mac Allister took full advantage of the space he was given. At that moment, it looked like Switzerland were in for a long evening.
But football rarely follows the script.
Instead of falling apart, Switzerland kept believing. They stayed organised, defended well, and gradually became more confident. I actually admired the way they kept pushing forward instead of sitting back. When Dan Ndoye scored the equaliser, I was not even surprised because they had been asking questions for several minutes. Lautaro Martinez's late goal made the scoreline look convincing, but anyone who watched the game knows it was much closer than 3-1 suggests. Switzerland deserves plenty of credit because they pushed the world champions all the way.
