There are matches you enjoy because your team plays beautiful football, and then there are matches that simply test your nerves. England's quarter-final against Norway definitely belonged to the second category. It was not pretty, it was not comfortable, but it was one of those games that showed how important it is to have players who can deliver when everything is on the line.

When Norway scored first, I honestly became worried. England had been seeing plenty of the ball, but they were not creating enough clear-cut chances. Norway looked organised, defended well, and seemed ready to punish every mistake. For a while, it felt like England were heading for an early exit.
Then Jude Bellingham reminded everyone why he's becoming one of the biggest names in world football.
His equaliser just before halftime completely changed the mood of the game. Instead of going into the break frustrated, England had something to build on. Even then, the second half was not much easier. Norway kept fighting, created dangerous moments, and even had a goal ruled out. There were times when England looked fortunate to still be level.
As the game moved into extra time, I started thinking penalties were almost inevitable. Then came the moment that changed everything. The goalkeeper could not hold onto Morgan Rogers' shot, and Bellingham reacted faster than everyone else to poke home the winner. It was not the flashiest goal he'll ever score, but it was probably one of the most important.
One thing I found interesting after the final whistle was Thomas Tuchel's honesty. Despite reaching the semi-finals, he admitted he was not happy with the team's overall performance. I actually like that mentality. Celebrating the win is important, but recognising where improvements are needed is just as valuable. If England want to lift the trophy, they will need to play with more control and consistency against stronger opponents.
As for Bellingham, what more can be said? He keeps showing up in the biggest moments. Six goals in the tournament and two consecutive knockout games with a brace speak for themselves. More than the numbers, it's his confidence, energy, and ability to carry the team when things get difficult that have impressed me the most.
England are now one step away from another World Cup final, and the excitement is only growing. The road ahead won't be easy, but having a player like Bellingham gives every England supporter a reason to believe.
