One thing life has taught me is that nothing is really guaranteed.
Sometimes, we get too comfortable with the way things are going. We have a job, we have happy family, we are healthy, the bills are being paid, business is moving, and everything seems fine. At that point, it is easy to feel like we have finally figured life out.
But life can change without giving us any warning.
You can wake up one morning feeling perfectly fine and receive news that completely changes your day. Someone can suddenly fall sick. Someone can lose their job. A business can go from making good money to struggling to survive. And sadly, there are situations where people don't even get the chance to see another day.
That reality is scary, but it is also a reminder to make sure we remain humble.
I think sometimes we forget how fragile life really is. We see someone going through a difficult situation and quickly judge them because we believe we are doing better. We forget that circumstances can change too.
The person struggling today may be doing better tomorrow. And the person enjoying everything today may also face a difficult season tomorrow.
That's just how unpredictable life can be.
This is why I have come to appreciate the little things more. Being able to wake up, eat a meal, have people around me, work toward my goals and simply have another day to try again are things that should not be taken for granted.
We don't have to wait until we lose something before we realize its value.
If you have a job today, be grateful.
If your business is doing well, be grateful.
If you have good health, appreciate it.
If you have a roof over your head and food to eat, don't overlook those things because they may look ordinary. To someone else, they might be everything they are praying for.
And while you are doing well, please don't look down on people who are struggling. You never really know what tomorrow has prepared for any of us.
Life has a strange way of turning the tables.
So, keep working hard. Keep chasing your dreams. Try to improve your situation. But while doing all of that, stay humble and remain grateful.
Because everything we have today can change tomorrow.
And sometimes, the best thing we can do is simply appreciate the present while trusting God with whatever comes next.
