Hi Hive,
Right now, we are in the rainy season here in Nigeria, and honestly, I have a love-hate relationship with it. Some days, I find myself enjoying the weather so much, while on other days, I can't wait for the rain to stop.

One thing I really love about this season is the break from the intense heat. During the dry season, especially when the sun is at its peak, stepping outside can feel like walking into an oven. The rainy season changes that. The air feels cooler, the nights are more comfortable, and sometimes the sound of rain falling on the roof creates a peaceful atmosphere that helps me relax.
Another thing I enjoy is how fresh everything looks after a rainfall. The trees appear greener, the grass looks healthier, and the environment feels cleaner. There is something refreshing about waking up in the morning and seeing dark clouds in the sky instead of the scorching sun. It reminds me that nature has its own way of restoring balance.
The rainy season is also important for farmers and food production. Many crops depend on rainfall to grow properly, so this period is often a welcome one for people involved in agriculture. Whenever I think about that, it makes me appreciate the season even more.
That said, there are definitely things I don't like about it.
The biggest problem for me is the condition of the roads after heavy rain. In many areas, roads become flooded or muddy, making movement difficult. A journey that should take twenty minutes can easily turn into an hour-long struggle because of traffic or waterlogged streets. Getting caught in the rain unexpectedly is another experience I don't enjoy, especially when I don't have an umbrella nearby.
Mosquitoes are also a major annoyance during this season. After rainfall, stagnant water tends to collect in different places, creating perfect breeding grounds for them. The result is more mosquito bites and more reasons to keep doors and windows closed.
Even with these challenges, I still appreciate the rainy season. The cooler weather, fresh environment, and benefits it brings to farming make it worthwhile. No season is perfect, but I believe that each one has something unique to offer. For me, the rainy season may be inconvenient at times, but it's also one of the most refreshing periods of the year.
So, what's the current season like where you live, and what do you love or dislike most about it?

The rainy season, is refreshing for the environment, as well as the inconveniences that often arise, as you describe, is difficult; as you rightly say, it's nature's way of maintaining balance. Thank you for sharing your experiences,

I can understand the love-hate relationship with your rainy season! Muddy and clogged roads are definitely no fun to navigate, nor are mosquitoes anyone's friend! However, as you state, the coolness, refreshed air and plants and of course, the lovely sound of rain falling on the roof, are definitely a plus!
Thank you for your response and have a lovely day! !LADY
