I live naked and barefooted, very close to Earth and Nature, in an 18-acre, off-grid, clothing-optional, food-forest intentional community (GaiaYoga Gardens), way out in the jungles of Lower Puna, far East Big Island, Hawai'i, and I have for more than 6 years now. Although there are many challenges, I love my life, and I'm immensely grateful to live where and how I do, on my own terms! I would not want to live any other way! 😁🙏💚⚡💥🔥✴️✳️❇️👣🌱✨🤙
Warm greetings all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
Every day I'm in awe at the brilliance that Hive is, and on so many levels. That's why I've been so fully all-in for the long haul on this extraordinary Blockchain, with rock-solid commitment, dedication, determination, and relentless tenacity, for almost 4 years now. That's still true to this day. There have also always been aspects of Hive that have disturbed and troubled me, most notably being how I've seen the downvote feature used, and how so many amazing people have abandoned Hive because of it.
Continuing to see this over the years has always hurt my heart, but I've just focused on the positive, kept building and growing, and done my best to help as many of my fellow Hivers, in as many ways, as possible. The sad stories of people leaving Hive heartbroken over this issue keep coming into my awareness, however. That's not OK.
The downvote feature is indeed useful, but in its present form it's far too easy to be abused, which seemingly is increasingly how it's been used, from my perspective. This is a huge growth edge for Hive, because if this issue of abusive/unwarranted downvotes is not resolved, Hive will never fully thrive as a coherent whole.
Lack of proper communication around the reason for downvotes makes them abuse in my eyes, and shows either an astounding lack of care, or seemingly ill intentions. As such, communication and downvoting need to go hand in hand, without exception. Community oversight is also something very important in this regard, so no one individual, or group people, can negatively affect others for extended periods without remedy or recourse.
It's for this reason that I think that the downvote feature on Hive requires a new implementation, which I mentioned in my post yesterday, in which communication and community oversight are coded into how it functions. Other than removing downvoting entirely, which Blurt did, I don't see another way to resolve this very significant issue. Hive's on the edge of exploding, which is glorious, but this must be handled first.
Yesterday, Tuesday, I left the Flow House, after finishing up my Hive tasks, just a little after 2PM, giving my attention first to some photography for my posts. Once I had a nice batch taken, I went to salvage and transport another wheelbarrow full of plants from my old nursery, to my nursery behind the Landing. I spend some more time collecting another 10 gallons of soil (2 5-gallon buckets), and then using it to up-pot some of the plants that I just brought from my old nursery. When I had everything in my nursery at a good place to end, I cleaned up, collected my jar of leftover superfood fire coffee from the Landing fridge, and I made my way back to the Flow House, to ease into my evening Hive tasks, and to catch up on my notifications. I got everything done by just before 10PM, and after some asset management, and a scan of my X feed, I went to bed about 11:45PM. I woke up a bit after 7AM, still feeling that I needed more sleep, doing more asset management, going to make my superfood fire coffee in the Landing, then returning to the Flow House to write this post. It's now just before 11:30PM, so it's a very good time to wrap this up, so that I may get to my few other important Hive tasks, before preparing for a session that's scheduled for 1:30PM. I deeply appreciate y'all so very much! Until the next edition of these posts tomorrow! Always forward, onward, upward, and whaleward, ho, together we go! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
2025 Life Goals
1.) Do regular integral practices again, alone or with others.
2.) Prepare regular batches of my medicinal teas collected from the land again.
3.) Make my plant nursery, and the gardens, beautiful again.
4.) Begin learning relevant coding/programming languages to more fully contribute to the sovereignty-driven technologies where I am active, like Arch Linux, Hive, Qortal, DeSo, and Bastyon.
All photos were taken with my Motorola G Play 2024 Android Phone.
Thank you all so much who have helped me get to where I am today, and allowing me to share more of the beauty and magic from my life and my world with you, and for your continuous appreciation and support! I am truly deeply grateful! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
