I never actually thought about vote buying helping new accounts get established before I read your post. I guess it's just like any other tool. It can either benefit the community as a whole, or hurt it. Maybe what Hive really needs is a discussion on if there's a way to use them in a beneficial way, without encouraging leechers from sticking around.
