Saludos y bendiciones, mi gente bella de @hivefood. Un gusto visitarlos y hablar de lo que más nos gusta en esta comunidad de comidas y postres y si lo unimos a una celebración mucho más. Ya les he dicho aquí en mi blog, que en este mes tenemos varios cumpleañeros y a cada uno se le ha celebrado con alegría de diferentes formas.
Pero eso sí, lo que no ha faltado en ninguna es comida y una buena torta. En este caso le toco el turno a mi esposo y, aunque él es de los que no le gusta mucho celebrar su cumpleaños, siempre lo celebramos de manera diferente, pero igual comimos algo rico.
En su trabajo le cantaron también cumpleaños, así que ayer fue doble torta. En casa le preparé una pequeña torta de parchita con un toque de chocolate, al igual que una crema pastelera de estos dos ingredientes. La verdad es que quedó muy rica esta combinación, aunque el sabor que más predomino fue la parchita.
Estuve estrenando una bandeja para tortas pequeña, pero alta con un hueco en el medio, la mezcla al cocinarse se desbordó y se vio aún más alta, me encantó esta base, ya la estaré usando más próximamente, quizás con un quesillo, que aún no lo he preparado, bueno he hecho la torta imposible que es mitad quesillo y mitad quesillo, pero así solo no. Cantamos el cumpleaños solitos en casa, bueno, su sobrino nos acompañó.
También fuimos a cenar a la calle, no fuimos lejos, ya era tarde, cerca nos queda la calle del hambre y fuimos a uno de los negocios que no habíamos visitado y pedimos 4 faláfel más 1 refresco por 10 $, me pareció un buen combo.
Mientras esperábamos, que fue un buen rato, aunque éramos los únicos clientes, nos tomamos algunas fotos con el cumpleañero y nuestras princesas y así dejar para el recuerdo, ya que no hicimos celebración con invitados, los invitados más importantes eran nuestras princesas y las que escogieron que comer por cierto.
Cuando nos dieron nuestro pedido, pelamos los ojos, porque eran de gran tamaño, y los probamos sin crema primero a ver si en realidad estaban buenos y, gracias a Dios, que sí estaban ricos y con las cremas mucho más.
Ámbar se comió más que todas las croquetas y los tomates de ella y los de Arianna, ya que a ella no le gustan. Esta vez Ámbar, que era la que escogió comer falafel, prácticamente no se lo comió. Nos dejó sorprendidos, ya que ella siempre se los come. Aunque este hasta nosotros, nos los comimos todo a la fuerza, ya que nos llenó demasiado, todavía llevamos para la casa, je, je, je.
Así que quedamos más que satisfechos con esta comida que disfrutamos para celebrar un año más de Arístides. Dando gracias a Dios por todas las bendiciones recibidas, sobre todo que nos mantenga en la unión y en el amor de vivir esta aventura llamada vida.

Food and cake, a birthday staple

It's a pleasure to visit you and talk about what we love most in this food and dessert community, and even more so when we combine it with a celebration. I've already mentioned here on my blog that we have several birthdays this month, and each one has been celebrated joyfully in different ways.
But of course, what has not been missing at any of them is food and a good cake. In this case, it was my husband's turn, and although he is one of those who does not like to celebrate his birthday very much, we always celebrate it in a different way, but we still ate something delicious.
They also sang "Happy Birthday" to him at work, so yesterday we had two cakes. At home, I made him a small passion fruit cake with a touch of chocolate, as well as a pastry cream with these two ingredients. The truth is that this combination was very tasty, although the flavor that stood out the most was the passion fruit.
I was trying out a new small but tall cake pan with a hole in the middle. When the mixture was baking, it overflowed and looked even taller. I loved this pan, and I'll be using it more often, maybe with a quesillo cake, which I haven't made yet. Well, I've made the impossible cake, which is half quesillo and half quesillo, but not just that. We sang "Happy Birthday" by ourselves at home, well, his nephew joined us.
We also went out to dinner, but we didn't go far because it was already late. We live close to the street with lots of restaurants, and we went to one we hadn't visited before and ordered four falafels and a soda for $10, which I thought was a good deal.
While we waited, which was quite a while, even though we were the only customers, we took some photos with the birthday boy and our princesses to remember the occasion, since we didn't have a party with guests. The most important guests were our princesses, and they were the ones who chose what to eat, by the way.
When they gave us our order, we were surprised because they were so big, and we tried them without cream first to see if they were actually good, and thank God, they were delicious, and even better with the creams.
Amber ate more than all of her croquettes and tomatoes and Arianna's, since she doesn't like them. This time, Amber, who chose to eat falafel, hardly ate any. We were surprised, as she always eats them. Although we ate everything we could, as we were too full, we still took some home, hehehe.
So we were more than satisfied with this meal we enjoyed to celebrate another year of Arístides. We thank God for all the blessings we have received, especially for keeping us united and in love as we live this adventure called life.
