Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!

This Is Something!

It's really weird sometimes how people bring in their cars for transmission repair work and then we end up fixing a bunch of other stuff not even related to our work!

LOL! Okay well it is related somehow right... I mean it's repair work and to be frank that just shows I can do anything I want to!

This one is for the books! The common steering problem on these Korean cars! Huyndai and Kia!

All Tucked In There!

Okay so basically I have never attempted this before but I have a buddy that has fixed this on a steering rack before! Very easy actually although it takes some unneeded stripping!

But I suppose that is always the case right? Anyways! We need to remove a couple of things before we can even see what we need to work on! YUP it's that cluttered!

I think I might want to work carefully here as there are a whole lot of wiring looms, plugs and computers going about everywhere!

Some hectic stuff! But I am certain we will manage just fine!

The Steering Column!

Well that is the aim! We need to get this entire steering column loose in a matter where I can work with it and flex it around to get to the part I need to!

I mean we are not going to remove everything out of here completely! NAH screw that, I can just think that there are bloaks that go as far! End up snapping clock-springs and all that!

So let's dig in and see what we can get done here!

And It's Out!

Not fixed yet but out!

I was so worried that I might strip the bolts wonder ass over head down there but I managed just fine to not do that!

See I can totally burn out a transmission and it not being a problem because we have everything of everything! I can easily correct a mistake! But here we have no spares available and being carefull is a very big must!

That was where the solenoid was sitting at! Not too bad a spot to get it out if you remove some stuff around the clutch pedal and all that yeah!

Yeahp I Knew It!

It's not that I'm boasting or anything but it seems that I indeed do know a thing or three about something! Yup common knowledge around cars is a very big plus point especially if you're working in the trade you know! You just got to be at the top of your game!

Now here is a funny thing! Imagine booking this in and a dealer quotes you for an entire new steering rack right!
I would be furious but what if you don't even think of it being a small failure!

Now we have to get all that twisted and torn rubber out of there before fitting in the new part!

Oh you're going to laugh at this!

Just A Random Little Rubber!

To think that a rubber that small can make all the difference in driving satisfaction! That is something! That thing is burned up good! Glad we can get that replaced for the guy! Hella good!

The steering is much better now and I bet the guy is going to love to hear that!

Take note this is not a how to guide, merely myself talking about the work I do and my thoughts around certain things.
