Well Hello There Fellow Technicians And Hivers!
The Confusing DSG!
Well we got this one of a kind problem!
Actually isn't a weird problem at all we just had to scratch our heads at it a couple of times!
See what we think happened here was that the vehicle was already toyd with before we started working on it!
So for that fact we didn't really know what was bugging!
Before We Knew!
So before we really knew what was going on we pulled apart the megatronic!
All the symptoms pointed to this! The clutch kept on slipping while driving, so that was a pressure issue naturally, because a hydraulic pressure issue wont necessarily pick up on a computer!
That meant we had to pull the transmission and get that thing out and checked, along with that we had to inspect the clutch too since it was slipping!
First Sight.
Well first sight isn't exactly a bad sing, little to no dust settled between the cracks and best of all the oil is pretty clean. I mean it isn't exactly new but it's not overly dirty at all.
Not dirty in a manner of "Yes this thing broke!
So let's pop off the back cover!
All looked good on the inside too, the megatronic was even redone.
Rebuilt with a brand new Kinergo equipped, now why they would scratch out the names on top of the Kinergo is a real mystery to me!
I mean whack shit stays whack! This was a back yard job though and we will get to that soon, or rather some back yard guy worked on it. Likely after the Kinergo rebuild.
Going The Extra Mile!
So the customer isn't exactly going to pay for this but since we have a whole lot of these stuff lying around I thought well might as well do it right the first time, right?
I mean no use in banging something open and closing it up wrongly, at the end of the day I'll just make some extra work for me if it goes sideways! That we don't like at all!
This is a score for the client! I mean they aren't new but they are as good as new
Finally Noticing The Problem!
Well this I really missed!
Once I put the entire megatronic back together I noticed something strange, didn't think much of it at first and tried to clean it off, then I noticed it was actually carbon fibre stuff built up on the tips of the hydraulics that release the clutches.
This infact is not how it is meant to be and they aren't meant to be adjusted in any way or shape! JUST NOT!
They tried to compensate for the wrongfull chimming that they did or whoever did!
Unintended Rectification!
One thing is certain and it would have been that the chimming process would have automatically been fixed whether we found the problem or not.
If we did the chimming we would have anyways noticed something was off and at the end of the day we would have thought it to be a chimming problem. Well it was a chimming problem to say the least and it is fixed now!
Along with all these problems the vehicle also had a programming issue which came in when they fitted an entirely new megatronic removed from another vehicle! Now that we get a lot!
