So today I went out to talk to some business owners in my locality about Hive/SpendHBD. Explaining to them what Hive is and what spendHBD project is. This is to wet the ground in anticipation of the arrival of @ijelady to explain more to them for their registration and business listing through the distriator app.
Some of them were surprised to hear for the first time that one could shop and pay with a digital currency other than our local currency - the naira. While some were skeptical and doubted the genuineity of such project. Some have not even heard about cryptocurrency for the first time let alone shopping with it. While some other who have knowledge of cryptocurrency doubted if the government will allow such project to be adopted.
On the issue of whether the government will allow such a project to fly in the country I told them that Nigerian government has lifted the ban on crypto currency ( after all if you can't beat them you join them, lol) and that the project has been running smoothly in some other part of the country like Lagos, Aba, Delta and Uyo. That got them relaxed to asked some other questions like;
• How can I get my money converted into naira and how long?
• How long will it take for customers to claim their reward?
• As a shop owner what will be my benefit if customers get a cashback?
All these questions I asnweted one after the other by telling them that the HBD will be converted into Hive in their keychain app which they will download and activate upon registration. The Hive will be transferred to any crypto exchange there after converted into our local currency. And that all these processes will not take more than 5 minutes. They gave me a surprise look.
For the second question my answer was instantly and they were amazed.
I explained to them that as a listed business owner in the distriator app you have to promote Hive and accept HBD as a means of payment and people earn as they shop. This will attract more customers to you and boost your business. You can also write about your business as a means of advert and get upvotes and earn in return. That blew their minds and got them convinced and ready to start off. Like I said earlier, I told them to hold on a bit for the company's rep to arrive and explain more to them and then list their businesses.
