RE: Retire Now, Retire Here, Retire Later

in Silver Bloggers3 days ago

It's definitely not an easy decision as you have to consider a lot of factors. Retirement law is different in my country, so you can't compare the two, but time is of the essence and you definitely deserve to spend your remaining time not working, enjoying life.

When to retire? That's a decision only you can make, but from what you wrote here, the two middle options seem reasonable to me. I'd do the same.

Yes retirement laws vary a lot between countries and between different employers. Here some only offer a 401K plan. Im fornate to collect a nice pension as well. My requirements for a pension is to have at least 30 years of service, age doesn't matter. Of course different for others who dont have the service years. I do have to wait until 62 to collect Social Security though.

Well been working additional hours on top of many to begin with to have a better handle for what will probably be another U.S. Government Shutdown after tomorrow. Im better suited this time than last time.

Yes 55 or 57 is what i will probably settle with. The earlier sounds better but things have to be right at that time to pull the trigger. Hey the golden years arent to far away friend been thinking about them ever since I started working, haha.
