Fantastic post!
Oh, how I wish this majestic birds to be back in the wild. Their importance is tremendous.
In my country there are programs for other vultures to be returned in the nature. Some were brought from Spain. Hubby saw once few flying above our home.
The song, of course it is so famous and I love it. I heard only the first version, but Placido Domingo performed it brilliantly.

        Here in the efforts to reproduce condors it is planned to bring some females from other Andean countries since here most of the few that are left are males. Let's hope they will be successful in breeding them.
