I was assigned as one of the usherettes at my cousin's wedding.
This is different from a bridesmaid. As an usherette guide and greet guests.
On the morning of the wedding, I was already wearing a lovely usherette dress: a pastel pink plaid tulle skirt, with a white top that matched the wedding theme.
When we arrived at the venue, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement.
Because it's still early, we spend our time taking a picture.
There's a stone staircase in which we find a good spot for some snaps.
Of course, it won't be perfect without my lovely husband.
A candid shot and a posed one can be a nice document for this special event.
My role as an usherette was crucial. I was the first face that guests would see and the guiding light for the wedding entourage.
As the ceremony began, I took my place by the entrance. That was where I was assigned.
My cousin, radiant in her flowing white gown, was the star of the show. She also wore a flower crown made of fresh daisies and baby’s breath. It felt magical as if she had stepped into a fairytale.
I tried my best to help her with the last-minute touches, smoothing her dress, and fixing her veil.
I felt a rush of pride in being a part of her special moment, ready to assist her at every turn.
As my cousin walked down the aisle, I felt happy just like everyone present.
She steps confidently and gracefully.
While the ceremony continued, I slipped back to my responsibilities, ensuring that everything ran smoothly.
Some guests were still coming after the entourage, so we guided them to their seats, ensuring everyone was comfortable.
During the reception, I helped serve the wedding souvenirs, darting between tables.
We also enjoy taking pictures on the stage, and the outside picturesque designs.
As the evening wore on, laughter and love filled the air.
Being an usherette at my cousin's event was about more than just guiding guests, it was about being present for important moments in the lives of those I loved.
It's kind of tiring but as I witnessed how the wedding became successful, I felt a sense of fulfillment.
Of course, a hug tight from my cousin stating how grateful she is for me being her usherette makes me more happy.
Until our next wedding event... Buh-bye. 👋💗
