In the compound, we are four occupants including the landlady. The tap head got damaged some weeks ago by people who tried to force out water at night and that's how we've been using it because the other occupants do not just care, including the landlady and I decided to play along with them because I had done several repairs in the compound and none of them contributed to pay for the services both for the technician I hired and the equipments I bought. Do you know why they play blind eyes and deaf ears? It's because I pump the water in the compound because the generator belongs to me.
This morning, I decided to fix this tap head because I noticed that I can do it without the required PIPE WRENCH.
I went and bought the pump head, a very simple one with less cost. I didn't buy any other thing such as the Teflon tape because I have it in my house already from the ones I bought before.
I wrapped up the Teflon tape on the screw if the tap head, loaded it very well because of I know that when it's less, it gives leakage either immediately fixing or later on.
After that, I began to push in the tap screw to the exposed part of the pipe which actually took me a lot of strength because the teflon tape was thickly put and also, it would have been easier if pipe wrench was available but it wasn't, so I had to apply all the strength in me and tightening the tap head to the pipe. I tightened it to the best of my strength and I also made sure to take it easy in order not to break the pipe because it's beginning to worn out due to long time usage, exposure to sunlight and rain.
It's fixed already and I'm not going to disturb myself in taxing anyone in the compound. Let them do as their mind wish. For now, we can now use and lock the tap and there won't be fetching off water by everyone in the street at night where they usually finish the water before daybreak and to tell you what, the cost of fuel to pump the water is very high and I do the pumping always.
