I believe you will agree with me that when it comes to owanbe in Nigeria, the crown belongs to the Yorubas.
Like they are the life of the party, they know how to throw party and know how to make you enjoy a party, especially the eating aspect as well.
There is item 1-7 when it comes to owanbe.
Please,I am not saying that other tribes don't throw parties oo.
I am just saying that Yoruba party is exceptional and mind-blowing.
Their low key party isn't any low key.
I think this is just their culture, it's a tradition that spans through life.
There is this church that is close to where I live, the church is popularly known as white garment church.
And when it comes to white garment church, I have come to realize that it is a Yoruba church.
They speak their language,even if you are not from Yoruba and you attends the church, you will be forced to know how to speak and understand Yoruba, if not you won't understand what the service is all about.
I could say even as a church the Yoruba culture and tradition still radiates in the church.
This Sunday is their adult harvest thanksgiving service, from Monday they have been preparing for it.
There was back to back programs both morning, afternoon, evening and night.
Most days they could feast on food to celebrate.
For the main Sunday service that started on Friday morning,when they brought a big cow to the church.
Saturday, they slaughtered it.
Shared some and used some to prepare the main Sunday thanksgiving celebration service meals.
They even went ahead to repaint the church, brought new speakers and decorated the church so well.
It's not just a thanksgiving celebration service but a whole party itself.
Well, I could have joined to know more about the service but I didn't iron my white gown on time 😉😂
