Imagination you say? No this is going to bud to reality. The world had changed, now it is all about what you can offer, people have the money now, what they want is your idea to invest that money. Skill is very existential.

I am happy that my Government have taken it into laws now, no more underage WAEC and University systems. Once any child is done with Secondary school he or she should go a learn a skill. So a having a skill even as part of extra curriculum is not just a an imaginary dreams but you are thinking towards the right direction.
