I think every human on earth, in one way or the other has made some rash decisions due to their poor control of their desire. Yeah, I'm a victim of that too.
Recently, I purchased something I was forced to acquire due to the desire to occupy the space I was using for work, but right now I'm regretting it.
"I think I told you not to buy it that time?"
My brother would always say whenever I start lamenting about the big financial mistake I made. But the truth is, I needed the item I purchased at that moment. However, I did not take time to properly sit down and analyse things before making the purchase.
Look at the situation;
I was to occupy a shop that my boss's wife was vacating. Shops are scarce in the town, so I saw it as a good opportunity to secure the shop and leave the small space I was using. The front was caged by iron bars (protector) and they wanted to remove the protector and I told them to leave it so that I would pay. This was purely my way of cementing my occupancy of the place in case the landlord decided to proceed with the renovation talk they were talking about before. Yeah, I paid, a huge sum of money and I didn't use the place for up to two months, the landlord served everyone a quit notice to vacate with no option to negotiate if by any means they wanted to increase the rent. That was it, I had to spend another sum of money to pull out the iron bars. I regretted not settling down to think first before proceeding with what I was desiring.

The truth is, a lot of people allow their desires to control them, which stops them from taking the time to properly think and analyse situations before acting on them.
We just have to learn how to slow down a bit and give ourselves time to think and analyse. Otherwise, if we keep rushing like that, we will continue to make decisions that backfire in the end, just like the one I made.
Thanks for reading.
