Some time ago, I bought a bunch of ginger from the market for my regular cooking of stew and meat.
Looking at one among the bunch, I discovered one of them was already germinated on its own. I then rushed to my backyard gathered some sand into an empty cement sack and planted it and left it there, after some time, I discovered that it has germinated properly having and spreading some leaves. I was so thrilled by that.
I kept monitoring it growing. At a time the leaves turned yellowish in colour, I decided to check it up and i harvested a reasonable lumps of gingers that was late last year. After which I planted the stem again in that Same sack and allowed it to grow into this year began. It started growing up again bearing fruits
Just yesterday, being that the leaves are completely dried. I now decided to harvest it.... Come and see what I saw!!!, what..?, I was just screaming, what..?

I was totally surprised at the rate of the ginger fruits coming out from that tiny one I had planted last year, only that very one, I didn't take it serious yet it has really responded to me with a very wonderful returns and result. This was why I decided to share this experience with us, lovely people of my @homesteading community.
No seed planting is small or useless. It really wasn't an intentional planting. A kind of casual action I took last year is now resulting into this huge harvest. Ginger is generally very costly in the market in this season, even garlic is also very scarce and expensive.
I'm motivated by this unexpected fruitful result, I then carefully now replanted it again in the same sack I harvested these ones... Take a look at how I now did it to avoid direct heat and hot sunlight because this is dry season, rainfall is very scanty.

Here I was adding water to it, the water I fetched from our tap for it not to feel the hot sun heat.

I was fetching water from our tap.

I now covered it with it's own dried leaves, I know it do even more better this time around.
I'm very excited about it all
Thank you for your time to read through my post, Merry Christmas 🎄🎁🎄 and a happy new Year in advance 😄. We shall all cross over to 2026!! I
Pictures are mine.
