One thing football has taught us over the years is that when a young player starts showing real promise, the transfer rumours are never far behind. It doesn't matter how old they are or how recently they broke into the first team; but if they are good enough, Europe's biggest clubs will come knocking.

That seems to be the situation Liverpool find themselves in with Rio Ngumoha.
According to recent reports, Bayern Munich have been keeping a close eye on the talented winger and could be interested in making a move this summer. To be fair, it's easy to understand why. Bayern are looking to strengthen their attack, and Ngumoha has enjoyed a remarkable rise over the past season.
But if you ask me, Liverpool shouldn't even consider letting him go.
The youngster has worked hard to earn his place around the first team, and the progress he has made in such a little period is impressive. Last season was a real breakthrough for him. Making 29 appearances for Liverpool's senior side at his age is no small achievement, especially at a club where competition for places is always intense.
What stands out most is the confidence he plays with. He doesn't look intimidated when he's on the pitch. Instead, he looks like a player who believes he belongs at that level, and that mindset is often what separates good young players from future stars.
Liverpool also seem to share that belief. The club handed him a long-term professional contract in September 2025, which tells you everything you need to know about how highly they rate him. It would make little sense to invest in his development only to sell him just as he begins to fulfil his potential.
His recent achievements have only strengthened his reputation. Being invited to England's pre-World Cup training camp is a huge recognition of his talent, and receiving a nomination for the PFA Young Player of the Year award shows that people across the game are taking notice.
Of course, interest from a club like Bayern Munich is flattering, but not every player needs to leave at the first sign of attention. Sometimes the best move is staying where you are valued and continuing to grow.
For Liverpool fans, this is welcome news. Rio Ngumoha is one of the club's most exciting young talents, and personally, I'd love to see him continue his journey at Anfield for many years to come.
