Destiny - Do you believe in destiny? Do you believe everything is already written, or do we shape our future? Why?

When people talk about destiny, they often say things like “what will be, will be” or “everything happens for a reason.” Some believe our whole life is already written somewhere and we are just playing our parts like actors in a movie. Others believe we are the ones holding the pen to write our own story every single day. Well, to me I think destiny is something that sits between both ideas.
Take for example, someone born in a poor family. Some people will quickly say it is destiny. But if that person works hard, learns a skill, goes to school, or builds a business, and later becomes rich, does it mean that poverty was his destiny forever? Certainly not. It shows that while life may place us in certain conditions, how we react and the choices we make can change the picture.
It is also true that there are things we cannot control. Nobody chooses where to be born, which family, or the color of their skin. These are parts of life that feel like destiny because we had no hand in them. But after those first chapters of our life are given to us, the rest of the story is mostly shaped by the decisions we take, the risks we accept, and the opportunities we grab or ignore.
A typical example is for instance, a student may say it is destiny that he failed an exam, but when you check well, maybe he didn’t read enough or didn’t prepare well. Another person may say it was destiny to meet a friend who later changed his life, but it was also his decision to keep that friendship.
So, in conclusion, I believe in destiny and I think that destiny may give us the stage, but our actions and choices decide how the play will end which means we shape our future.
