Journey to Find More Goldilocks Soup—Broccoli Failed Me

I thought.... Broccoli was supposed to be an alkaline / neutral prone food.... according to Google Gemini... due to its closeness to ph7

However, when it comes to gastritis patients, that's a different ball game. You can't based on general facts, but instead it is needful to cater to each stomach's needs.

And in this case, the broccoli failed us.

And apparently Broccoli, my mom's favourite food, is closer to ph7 at the acidic side.

Hence, even with the help of The "Helper", with properly washed broccoli, blended with mushroom stock and salt-to-taste, it wasn't working for my mom.

There are much to learn when the stomach is ingredient sensitive. Even the slightest pinch of pepper, for a normal person is an enhance flavour and a "hug" to the body, but for digestive sensitive patient, it could feel like acid pouring into the stomach.

And while others, wheat is glut and can cause indigestions, but with tiny-tiny portions with soft starchy food, it sooths the stomach.

This is such a journey to work on as my mom's stomach is very "temperamental". The "Goldilocks" milk that was supposed to be mom's best friend, has become its recent enemy. 🥲

So off I go, continuing to search for another optimal brew for my mom, and perhaps, after a while, we can round back to the milk again.

Until Then

I like the taste of broccoli but it is a man-made vegetable it is not found in nature.
Make sure whatever your using is born of nature and not created by man or you will not find what you are looking for your Goldilocks soup.

You know, if you didn't tell me, I never would have thought that broccoli was man-made (selective culture). Which also mean that our current corn isn't as well.

Thanks for letting me know. I'll try millet again for my mom, maybe I'll sneak into the mashed potatoes.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

That's so disappointing, sorry about your broccoli.

sorry that your broccoli soup experiment didn't produce the ideal result you wanted. Most likely sticking to alkaline rich food would be better for your mom. Wishing her well soon.

Oh broccoli 🥦 is a bit more acidic indeed. Even my mother I have reduced for her.
Hope you will find another good recipe for your mom soon
