It (Part 1) is another great adaptation of Stephen King's novels that I really enjoyed. Both the first installment and its sequel are very well done, adding scenes of tension and jump scares not found in the book, which focuses more on psychological horror. Both versions are good, the written and the cinematic. Bill Skarsgård's magnificent performance as the diabolical clown amplifies the character's terror. And from what I understand, this actor thoroughly enjoyed playing the role, but he was always careful not to frighten his co-stars too much so as not to traumatize them.
It (Parte 1) es otra de las grandes adaptaciones de las novelas de Stephen King que me ha gustado demasiado. Tanto su primera entrega como su secuela están muy bien hechas, agregando escenas de tensión y jump scare que no se lee en el libro, ya que este se enfoca más en el terror psicológico. Ambas versiones son buenas, tanto la escrita como la cinematográfica. La actuación magnífica de Bill Skarsgård encarnando el diabólico payaso aumenta el terror del personaje. Y por lo que tengo entendido, este actor disfrutó mucho interpretando este papel, pero siempre estuvo atento de no asustar tanto a sus co protagonistas para no generarles traumas.
I also really liked that the film was set in the 1980s, so the cinematography, set design, costumes, and many other details were always very well done. The cast chosen to play the children's roles is another strong point of the film. Each member of the "Losers' Club" has a unique and essential chemistry that makes the story unfold as it does.
También me gustó mucho que la película estuviera ambientada en la década de los años 80, así que la fotografía, escenografía, vestuario y muchos otros detalles estuvieron siempre muy bien hechos. A su vez, el elenco elegido para interpretar los papeles infantiles también es otro punto fuerte que tiene la película. Cada miembro del "Club de los Perdedores" tiene una química única e indispensable para que la historia se desarrolle como lo hizo.
I enjoyed seeing the backstory of each member of this gang, who are characterized by being victims of bullying, illness, abuse, flaws, and many other key things that happen to you during that stage of life, leaving a permanent mark, no matter how many years pass. However, by staying together, they grow stronger and manage to overcome any situation that afflicts them, reinforcing this unique and special friendship between the protagonists as the film progresses.
Me agradó ver la historia detrás de cada uno de los integrantes de esta pandilla, que se caracterizan por ser víctimas del bullying, enfermedades, abusos, defectos y muchas cosas claves que te suceden en esa etapa de la vida que te deja una marca permanente por más que pasen los años. Sin embargo, al permanecer juntos se fortalecen y logran superar cualquier situación que los aflija, lo que va reforzando esta amistad única y especial entre los protagonistas a medida que la película va avanzando.
Another noteworthy aspect is that these children, no longer children at all, are at a crucial age where they begin to understand that, when the time comes, they will be forced to leave childhood behind and enter the world of adulthood, reaching a level of maturity different from others, brought about by everything they experience in Derry, at school, and with their families. I also greatly appreciated the fact that the film remained faithful to King's story as told in the novel; there were no modifications or strange adaptations, except for changing the style of horror to add a bit more suspense and drama to the story.
Otro aspecto a destacar es que estos niños, no tan niños ya están en una edad crucial donde empiezan a entender que llegado el momento, se verán obligados a dejar de ser niños para entrar en el mundo de la adultez, alcanzando un nivel de madurez diferente al de otros, causado por todo lo que viven en Derry, la escuela y con sus familias. También me agradó mucho el hecho de que la película se mantuvo fiel a la historia de King contada en la novela, no hubo modificaciones ni adaptaciones extrañas, salvo cambiar el estilo del terror para agregarle un poco más de suspenso y drama a la historia.
So, for me, It (Part 1) is one of those very well-made horror films with a superb and entertaining cinematic adaptation. A film that not only seeks to scare you, but also shows you how important it is to have great friends and surround yourself with people who help you face your greatest fears. This leads me to believe that this film brilliantly adapted King's classic horror to a more modern version. And before I go, I want to add that I wrote this review because of the premiere of the new HBO series, which I'm currently watching week after week. Therefore, I plan to review the second film and, of course, the series, which started strong and on a very good footing.
Así que para mí, It (Parte 1) es una de esas películas de terror muy bien hechas con una adaptación cinematográfica estupenda y entretenida. Un film que no sólo busca asustarte, sino que también te demuestra lo importante que es tener grandes amigos y rodearte de personas que te ayuden a enfrentar tus más grandes temores. Lo que me lleva a creer que esta película adaptó estupendamente el terror clásico de King a una versión más moderna. Y antes de irme quiero agregar que esta reseña la hice por el estreno de la nueva serie producida por HBO y que actualmente estoy viendo semana tras semana. Por lo que planeo hacerles una reseña de su segunda película y por supuesto de su serie que empezó a todo dar y con muy buen pié.
