Hey Hive family
So today I’m starting something new a 7-day journey exploring Korea. Not just the surface stuff, but diving into what makes this country truly interesting from their lifestyle to the things they value most and to life living. Whether you’re a K-drama fan, a foodie, or just someone who’s wants to know about the world, I hope this mini-series gives you a real taste of Korea.
Let me be honest before I started researching Korea deeply, I only knew the basics kimchi, BTS, Samsung, and maybe Jeju Island from travel videos. But there'is so much more. Korea is a country where ancient palaces stand next to skyscrapers, and people blend tradition and modern life almost effortlessly.
One of the first things that stood out to me is how proud Koreans are of their cultural identity wow! Despite going through colonization, wars, and division, South Korea has risen with a strong sense of self. From the language (Hangul, which was scientifically created by King Sejong!) to customs like bowing, respect for elders, and family unity with these are still practiced widely, even with all the modern tech around with knowledge.
And speaking of tech now wow. Korea is crazy advanced in technology. They have some of the fastest internet in the world, cashless systems everywhere, and smart cities like Seoul that literally feel like the future. Yet, you’ll still find a humble corner restaurant serving traditional bibimbap and people practicing meditation or visiting temples. It's such a cool contrast.
What I also love is how community-driven Korean life is. There’s a strong sense of togetherness people look out for each other, a sign of unity and love especially in smaller towns. In cities, life is fast paced, sure, but that deep rooted culture of harmony is still there among.
I’m honestly amazed at how Korea balances everything growth, culture, respect, history, and global influence and still keeps its identity so strong. This is just the beginning, and I’m excited to take you with me through more of what makes Korean Korea.
If you’ve ever been to Korea or want to go, let me know your thoughts in the comments!
See you tomorrow I’ll be talking about Korean culture and daily life. You don't wanna miss it!
