Every country has it own geographical location, that's why we have the world maps include all it's continents there is no way you could mention a country without talking about where it is been located, I just want to share for us what I read about Korean geographic feature and location in the world map. Geography is important because it show why people live the way they live, and why history happen the way it happen.
Korea is located in East Asia. It is almost like an island but still connected to land. On the north side, Korea is connected to China and Russia. On the south, it is surrounded by water, the Yellow sea in the west and the Sea of Japan in the east. This kind of location make Korea very important in history because many country want to use that position for trade and war.
Korea also have long coastlines because of this their occupation is fishing, is very common, and seafood is a big part of their food culture. When I see Korean drama, I always see them eating fish, crabs, shells, and it make sense because the ocean is right there near them.
The nature of land there is not all flat, many part of Korea is mountain. Because of this it affects the weather and how people build their houses. Mountains also protect them in old time from enemies. The country have four seasons, the winter, the spring, summer and autumn. This make life very colorful and the same, sometimes hard, because winter can be very cold and summer hot.
The location of Korea also explain what they are when we talk about country culture, China and Japan. Many of their history, food, writing system, even religion in the past was influence by those neighbors. But still Korea develop its own strong identity and culture.
So we say the history, the survival and the culture and talking of the trading activities, Korea has the right location, where a country stand on earth can decide so many thing in people’s life.
