The Savory Jajangmyeon

in Korean Hive Village2 months ago

I got to discover a whole world of Korean cuisine and all its unique ingredients through K-dramas. When I first started to watch K-dramas, one of the first Korean foods that caught my attention was kimchi.

There was hardly any movie I watched without it being mentioned or eaten, and I think this is probably because it can either be used as a side dish or a key ingredient, and I was fascinated by how versatile kimchi is.

However, the more dramas I watched, the more I got to know about different Korean cuisines, but there's one dish that actually stood out for me and captured my imagination, and it's jajangmyeon (Korean black bean sauce noodles).

My interest in jajangmyeon grew even more after I watched a Kdrama titled Wok of Love; the way they presented the dish in different scenes in this Kdrama was just so beautiful that I could literally taste how delicious it is through the screen. I like how this meal is easy to prepare, but what I love most is how nutritious it can be. I love how thick the black bean sauce is and how it is often made with diced pork or seafood and mixed with vegetables like onions and zucchini to perfectly harmonize the flavors.

Then how it is been paired with chewy noodles, this meal is just so comforting, and I also found out from some K-dramas that the meal is even tastier when it is eaten alongside tangsuyuk, Korean sweet and sour pork (or beef).

From the facial expressions of the actors whenever they are eating this, I can tell that eating these two meals together definitely creates an unforgettable dining experience.

THANK YOU FOR READING TO THE END 🤗

Jajangmyeon in Korean dramas is always tempting. I've tried making it, but it tastes bland.

Lol 🤣

I remember this was the meal that attracted Gu Jun Pyo to his girl in Boys before flowers 😂😂😂
