Reflections On Life - LOH #249

in Ladies of Hive16 hours ago

Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗

One thing I have learned about life while navigating its ups and downs is how contentment is a necessary ingredient for a happy life. I have come to realize that the times when we failed to reflect on our journey, accomplishments, and experiences, we missed out on the beauty that life has offered or would offer. There was a time when I reflected on how my life had been, and I was left feeling disheartened, especially on days when things did not work out the way I had envisioned them.

However, I just recently discovered how important it is to embrace contentment, so whenever I reflect on how my day went or life generally, I make a conscious effort to bring out something meaningful from it. I focus on the lessons learned, the relationships nurtured, and the growth experienced.

Living life this way has made me motivated to live in the present moment, and this has made me discover a sense of freedom and clarity. Such a lifestyle has made me learn how to let go of all my unsettled worries about the past or future, and, instead, I have channeled my focus on the here and now. This mindset shift has really made me appreciate the beauty of life as it unfolds.

Because I understand that what is in the past has passed, and the only thing I can do with it is learn from the experience, I have been conscious enough never to let any experience, however it turned out, either good or bad, leave me without a lesson. The reason many people recycle past experiences and pains is because they refuse to learn from those experiences when they first happen. The beauty of every experience is not in you going through it and coming out, but in what you brought of the experience; these can be called lessons. I have promised myself never to waste any experience ever again.

So, having looked back at my past accomplishments, if there was ever anything I was grateful for, it was the tenacity, perseverance, and courage it took me to achieve those feats. Those attributes have made me a lifetime student of my success stories. Because I know how cyclical life can be, I try as much as I possibly can to improve on the skills and knowledge I gained while on the journey to my last milestone. That has always kept me on the cutting edge and prepared for the next challenge, which most times is not too different from the previous, just a few variations here and there. And because I understood the principles I engaged in achieving the last result, it is easy to apply those same principles, regardless of the difference in context, and I am sure of victory.

In moving ahead, the weapons in my arsenal are not just limited to the lessons I learned from my past defeats but also the principles I learned from preceding victories. I have learned what to do and what not to do. Through experience I have known where to apply what principle or set of principles. By studying my past, I now know better, and on the strength of that knowledge, I can make informed decisions that compress time and save resources for me. This has become my advantage in the game of life, my ability to retrospect and forge ahead with confidence.

Contentment is the major ingredient to a happy life. So also learning from our mistakes while forging ahead to becoming better at this thing called life is a must.

That's just true, we must learn to be thankful in every situation

Thank you

all the things we learn and live are the ones that make us prepare for a future, it depends on how we see this, because we are not what happens to us, but the things we do with those things that happen to us is what reflects our true self. Very thoughtful post!

Thank you 😊

It is unfortunate that a lot of people do not learn from history; whether their's or other's. Even in the bad times, joy can be found, and living in that joy can help one navigate those hardships in the moment.

Studying and acknowledging both the victories and defeats all help one to grow. Thank you for sharing! Take care! !LADY

Thank you too for stopping by, am glad you learnt something new 🤗

Our past, present and future being individuals we all learn at our own pace, recognize where we are able to trim off excess or learn from failure, make sure we don't repeat.
