When Life Changes the Plan – and We Still Have a Beautiful Day 🌞💦🦆
Today we set off for our long-planned trip to Mietków Lake.
The plan was simple: sunbathing, swimming, and plenty of fun in the water. The weather was perfect – sunny, hot, summer in full swing.
And everything would have gone according to plan… if it weren’t for the fact that the water had bloomed.
So our swimming and splashing dreams didn’t quite work out.
But if motherhood has taught me anything, it’s flexibility. Plan B? Always ready.
The trip was far from wasted – we walked across the dam, admired the stunning lake, the mountains shimmering on the horizon, and the beauty of the surrounding nature. We also learned a bit about the dam’s history, and after the walk, we returned to our green oasis.
A quick lunch, splashing in the pool, cooling off in the afternoon heat.
And in the evening – a walk with my husband to our beloved park, then further between the fields and allotments. On the way back, we stopped by the pond and spent a good 20 minutes watching a duck spectacle: battles for dominance, diving performances, and even underwater hunting. I was mesmerized – so much life and calmness all at once.
I often say: We plan, and God laughs. Today was exactly like that – yet no one regretted the change of plans. We’ll definitely return to Mietków Lake, but next time we’ll check the water quality first. Maybe we’ll even get to fulfill our dream of learning to paddleboard.
When we got back, another surprise awaited us – my sister-in-law came with her kids, and the boys were over the moon, playing with their cousins.
💬 I often say I’m a realist, but I’m not a fan of complaining. I try to take lessons from what life brings, not dwell on what didn’t go as planned, and not compare myself to others – because what we see is often just a fragment of their story, carefully chosen, without knowing the weight they carry.
Since becoming a mother, the world has become simpler and more beautiful. My children have taught me to find joy in the little things, in ordinary, firework-free moments. They’ve given me back the freedom to be a little silly – sometimes even a lot.
Joy in life is not reserved for the chosen few. There’s no point in putting it off “for later” – yesterday is gone, tomorrow is uncertain, and today is all we truly have.
I recently heard a phrase that stuck with me:
“A happy life is made of happy days – so start collecting them today.”
Appreciate what you have. Reach for your dreams – big and small.
And remember, time spent with the right people is the greatest treasure.

Kiedy życie zmienia plany – a my i tak mamy piękny dzień 🌞💦🦆
Dziś wyruszyliśmy na zaplanowaną od dawna wycieczkę nad Zalew Mietkowski.
Plan był prosty: plażing, pływanie, mnóstwo zabawy w wodzie. Pogoda idealna – słońce, upał, lato w pełni.
I pewnie wszystko poszłoby według scenariusza, gdyby nie to, że… woda zakwitła.
Z naszych planów na pływanie i wodne harce niewiele wyszło.
Ale jeśli coś w życiu już mnie nauczyło elastyczności, to właśnie bycie mamą. Plan B? Zawsze w pogotowiu.
Wycieczka nie poszła na marne – przeszliśmy się po zaporze, podziwiając piękne jezioro, majestatyczne góry majaczące na horyzoncie i otaczającą nas przyrodę. Dowiedzieliśmy się też sporo o historii zapory, a po spacerze wróciliśmy do naszej zielonej oazy.
Szybki obiad, wygłupy w basenie i chłodzenie się w upalne popołudnie.
A wieczorem – spacer z mężem do naszego ukochanego parku, dalej między polami i działkami. Wracając, zatrzymaliśmy się przy stawie, by przez 20 minut obserwować niezwykły spektakl kaczek: walka o dominację, popisy nurkowania, a nawet podwodne polowania. Byłam zahipnotyzowana – tyle spokoju i życia jednocześnie.
Często powtarzam: człowiek planuje, a Pan Bóg się śmieje. Dziś było dokładnie tak – a mimo to nikt nie żałował zmiany planów. Jeszcze wrócimy nad Zalew, ale tym razem sprawdzimy stan wody wcześniej. Może uda się spełnić marzenie o nauce pływania na desce SUP.
Po powrocie czekała nas jeszcze jedna niespodzianka – przyjechała moja bratowa z dziećmi, więc chłopcy byli w siódmym niebie, bawiąc się z kuzynami.
💬 Zwykle mówię, że jestem realistką, ale nie lubię narzekać. Staram się wyciągać lekcje z tego, co przynosi życie. Nie roztrząsać tego, co nie wyszło zgodnie z planem. Nie porównywać się do innych – bo często widzimy tylko ułamek ich historii, wybrany fragment, nie znając bagażu, który niosą.
Odkąd mam dzieci, świat stał się prostszy i piękniejszy. Nauczyły mnie cieszyć się z drobiazgów, z codziennych chwil bez fajerwerków, dały mi przestrzeń na odrobinę szaleństwa (a czasem i całkiem spory pakiet!).
Radość z życia nie jest zarezerwowana dla wybranych. Nie warto odkładać jej „na później” – bo wczoraj już było, jutro jest niepewne, a dziś to wszystko, co mamy.
Gdzieś ostatnio usłyszałam zdanie, które bardzo do mnie przemawia:
„Na szczęśliwe życie składają się szczęśliwe dni – więc zacznij gromadzić je już dziś.”
Doceniaj to, co masz. Sięgaj po swoje marzenia – małe i duże.
I pamiętaj, że czas spędzony z właściwymi ludźmi to największy skarb.
