When I forwarded the photograph to my friend Estela a few months ago, she told me she'd lost it and that I made her think that boy was almost thirty. She said she dreamed of the day they'd return to the country and we could all sit down and have coffee together like before.
I'm a person with many friends, the kind who makes sure to send a word of encouragement to childhood friends now and again, the kind who's there when someone is sick at home and celebrates births. I also keep them company with those who are still around, because some of them are passing away.
This week, the ladies of Hive are inspired by two questions from our friend @marivic10. I'm leaning towards the first one, and I'm sharing the link: Ladies of Hive Community Contest #274. Everyone is welcome, and even the gentlemen are invited. Because they also enjoy good friendships.
Show us photos of the person you shared the most with this past year, the one who was by your side through thick and thin. Tell us a little about that special person.
I have several childhood friends, the kind we always stay in touch with and turn to if one of us needs help. But almost all of them—Estela, Cristina, Marines, Janet—are going through the same difficult times in Venezuela. We share our current struggles, and we find comfort in knowing we're there for each other in our hardships.
In some cases, their children have left the country, leaving them alone—two sons, like Estela. In other cases, their children have left the country with them, as they are only children, like Cristina. Even so, we manage to send each other updated photos of where they are, keeping in touch and always hoping they'll return.
On a completely different note, and as a complement to this, we must see the faces of eight million Venezuelans living outside their country, longing to return when things improve.
A small group of coffee meetups and stories from our school days. Luckily, I now also get together with my new Hive friends, those who live nearby and are a constant presence when they check my WhatsApp statuses. These wonderful friends tell me they're doing well and that they love my plants, just like my dear @marybellrg and @mafalda2018.

Cuando le reenvié la fotografía hace unos meses a mi amiga Estela, me dijo que la tenia perdida y que le hice pensar que ese niño ya casi pisaba los treinta años. Y que soñaba con el día que regresaran al país y nos sentáramos todos a tomarnos un café como antes.
Soy una persona con muchos amigos, de esas que esta pendiente de mandarles de vez en cuando, una palabra de buen animo a los amigos de la infancia, de la que acude cuando tienen un enfermo en casa y celebran los nacimientos, bueno también los acompaño con los que todavía quedan por allí, porque ya se van dando de baja algunos.
En las damas de Hive nos motiva esta semana con dos preguntas de la mano de la amiga @marivic10, me inclino por la primera y les comparto en enlace Ladies of Hive Community Contest #274. Están todas y hasta los caballeros también invitados. Porque ellos también disfrutan de buenas amistades.
Muéstranos fotos de la persona con la que más compartiste este último año, la que estuvo a tu lado en las buenas y en las malas. Cuéntanos un poco sobre esa persona especial.
Tengo varias amigas de la infancia de esas con las que siempre, nos mantenemos en contacto y acudimos si alguna nos necesita y pide ayuda. Pero casi todas ellas Estela, Cristina, Marines, Janet estamos pasando por situaciones de la Venezuela actual. Coincidimos en nuestras dificultades actuales. Y nos consolamos al saber que estamos allí acompañándonos en nuestras penurias.
En unos casos sus hijos se han ido del país y se han quedado solas, dos varones como el caso de Estela. Y en otros casos se han ido fuera del país con ellos al ser hijos únicos como Cristina. Aún así logramos mandarnos alguna fotografía actualizada de por donde andan, manteniéndonos en contacto y siempre con la esperanza de que ellos regresen.
De verdad punto aparte y como complemento hay que verle la cara a ocho millones de venezolanos fuera de su país con ganas de regresar cuando las cosas mejoren.
Un grupo pequeño de reuniones de café e historias del pasado escolar. Por suerte ahora combino también con mis nuevas amigas de hive esas que viven cerca y que son una constante cuando miran los estados de whatsap. Estas amigas maravillosas me dice que están bien y que le encantan mis plantas como mi queridas @marybellrg y @mafalda2018.
