Don't judge me if I don't feel like decorating for Christmas; my Christmas spirit is intact, I just lack the energy. At some point, I'll dust off the Christmas decorations, put up the lights, and continue enjoying Christmas.
In the meantime, I'll enjoy looking at old photos, those of me making preparations to celebrate the coming of the baby Jesus. I'll get around to it and finish putting up the lights soon enough.
I love looking at the photos of every special detail I prepared in the years past. I had my Christmas tree that I decorated, and the children loved it. To make Christmas special for my mother, we would set up a nativity scene; that was her favorite Christmas. Now the children are grown, and they put up their own Christmas trees back in Spain.
I even dressed my dog up as Santa and went for walks with him, handing out candy to the children who stopped to pet him. The children said he was Santa's helper. He was 14 years old when he passed away; I miss him dearly.
What I won't miss is preparing the traditional Venezuelan dish, the beloved hallacas; those will be next weekend. And of course, I'll always have my quesillo, baked chicken, and salad.
I've never taken this decoration off my front door; I simply love having it there. It was like a free gift that came with the newspaper for a small price. So, without even realizing it, I'm always surrounded by Christmas decorations—as I've already mentioned, I love it.
When Christmas Eve arrives, I set the table with Christmas decorations and enough food for the day. I also have a Christmas music box filled with chocolates for our guests.

No me juzguen si no tengo ánimo para decorar en navidad, mi espíritu navideño esta intacto solo me faltan las fuerzas. En algún momento desempolvare la caja navideña, pondré las luces y seguiré disfrutando la navidad.
Mientras tanto disfrutaré las imágenes del pasado, esas donde hacia los preparativos para celebrar la venida del niño Jesús. En cualquier momento me animo y termino de poner las luces.
Me encanta ver las fotografías de cada detalle tan especial que preparaba en los años del pasado. Tenía mi árbol de navidad que decoraba y los niños disfrutaban mucho. Hasta mi perrito lo disfrazaba de Santa y salia a pasear con el repartiendo caramelos a los niños que se detenían para acariciarlo. Los niños decían que era el ayudante de Santa. Ya tenia 14 años y murió, lo extraño mucho.
Lo que no me va a faltar es la preparación del plato tradicional venezolano, las queridas hallacas, esas serán el próximo fin de semana. Siempre presente mi quesillo, el pollo horneado y la ensalada.
Este adorno nunca lo he quitado de la puerta de mi casa, simplemente me encanta tenerlo allí. Era como un regalo que venia por un precio módico con la compra del periódico. Así que sin querer siempre estoy rodeada de navidad, ya les dije que me encanta.
Cuando llega la noche de navidad preparo la mesa con adornos de navidad y suficiente comida para ese día. Una caja musical navideña llena de chocolates para los visitantes.
