It's true that we all experience second chances at different times. I'm convinced that the paths and detours life throws our way become lessons and learning experiences. There are resources we wish we had at hand when faced with these new opportunities.
I'm overcome with regret for unfulfilled desires, for not having had the chance to have my younger brother for many years and to have had the opportunity to raise him.
Surely, if I'd had better guidance or direction, I wouldn't have gotten divorced, or at least I wouldn't have subjected my children to exposing their father's flaws. And although it was never intentional, they simply discovered them, because that's how life is.
Although my children lacked nothing because I worked twice as hard to compensate for the lack of income from their father, I think that if I had a second chance, I would have stayed until they graduated. For better or worse, a father is always needed by his children. We don't realize how strong we are when we face life alone.
It's so funny how we perceive the dimensions of time and wrinkles differently. I particularly remember the faces of my schoolmates from those years. And even though time has passed, I still see them as young despite the years gone by.
I'm not one of those people who says to their friends, "You look so old!" when we get together. For me, they're still the faces of our childhood. I still meet up with teachers and professors, and when I do, I feel rejuvenated, remembering that wonderful energy from before.
I still remember that little girl who was happy at school and felt very young at heart. A little thinner, but full of enthusiasm for learning every day.

Que estupendo tema para esta semana, mis queridas damas de Hive. De la mano de nuestra @saffisara que nos aporta dos temas para mantenernos activas y escribiendo.

De verdad que entre segundas oportunidades siempre nos paseamos en diferentes momentos. Estoy convencida que los caminos y desviaciones que nos va dando la vida se vuelven enseñanzas y aprendizajes. Hay recursos que nos gustaría tener a la mano a la hora de tener esas nuevas oportunidades.
Me llegan oleadas por deseos no cumplidos, por tener oportunidades de tener a mi hermano menor durante muchos años y haber tenido la oportunidad de educarlo.
Seguramente si hubiese tenido una mejor guía u orientación no me habría divorciado, por lo menos no habría sometido a mis hijos a exponer las fallas de su padre. Y aunque nunca fueron a propósito, simplemente ellos lo fueron descubriendo, porque así es la vida.
Aunque no les falto nada a mis hijos porque trabaje el doble para suplir la falta de recursos de la entrada paterna. Creo que si tuviera una segunda oportunidad habría alargado hasta que se graduaran mis hijos. Mal o bien siempre un padre hace falta a sus hijos. No sabemos lo fuerte que somos cuando nos enfrentamos solas a la vida.
Es muy divertido como la dimensión del tiempo y de las arrugas las vemos diferente. Particularmente mantengo en mi mente los rostros de mis compañeros del colegio tal cual de aquellos años. Y aunque ha pasado el tiempo los veo jóvenes a pesar del tiempo transcurrido.
No soy de las que cuando nos reunimos le dice a sus amigas la expresión pero que vieja te vez. Para mi siguen siendo esos rostros de nuestra infancia. Aun me reúno con maestras y profesores y cuando lo hago me siento rejuvenecer en esos instantes, recordar esa energía tan bonita de antes.
Sigo recordando a esa niña que era feliz en la escuela y sintiéndome muy joven de espíritu. Un poco más flaca pero llena de ganas de aprender todos los días.
