LOH Contest #281 Balancing life & work

in Ladies of Hive3 days ago

Greetings dear Hiveans and members of the #ladiesofHive community. Balancing life and work is not easy, unless you forecast your schedule in advance. To be a part of this wonderful contest join here to know the rules of the contest.

Their is a say - Time is the best teacher, it teaches you everything. As both question seems to be related, I will answer accordingly.

Presently I quit my job and is now a full time home maker. So my anwer to the first question, Do you prefer working from home or going to the office? Why?

I quit my job when I felt I had to struggle a lot both at home and at office, with my children busy with their studies on one end and my husband's job on the other end. So to give them time, I quit my job 2017.

Life is a bed of roses. This is what I felt when I quit my job. I felt I could give enough time for children, husband, home and above all for myself. As days passed, I felt I could have continued my job where I earned respect, rather being jobless and feeling low esteemed. Possibly, you forget the family chores once at office, even if its for a scheduled time.

Here it was, when I felt it is very important to be in office rather than working from home. Because one becomes physically strong and mentally happy while working among supportive colleagues. But if the work is taken home, the pressure at home as a home maker and an equally responsible official job can put in more stress.

So a sceduled job at workplace is always better, than working from home where the list is endless.

Do you think working from home will improve your work-life balance? How?

Here, it depends on the environment one works. In a comfortable environment, a person can schedule his work, as per his convenience, giving time for both family and life.

It is a challenging situation, when work and life can be executed successfully in a systematic way. It is more or less a complex situation at times. So for better results one can opt to work from office rather than at home.

Thankyou for your time and patience.

I have formally retired from my career in Nursing care, though I had planned to work much longer as a plan I an forced to retire due to being diagnosed with a degenerative neurological condition of Parkinson's disease.

I now spend much of my time home with my adult sons and keeping a proper home for them as it should be. I can have my home and garden looking proper rather than neglected.

Thanks for sharing your home life @shamis
