Hola comunidad @ladiesofhive, nuevamente con ustedes con un nuevo capítulo de las Cosas pequeñas que me sostienen.
Hay días en los que una no necesita respuestas.
Ni consejos.
Ni frases hechas que intenten convencerte de que todo estará bien.
Hay días en los que basta con sentir que alguien decidió quedarse a tu lado.
Hace unas semanas fui a visitar a una amiga.
Habíamos quedado para conversar un rato y ponernos al día, pero yo llegué un poco más callada de lo habitual.
No había ocurrido nada grave.
Simplemente arrastraba uno de esos días en los que el cansancio parece instalarse más en el ánimo que en el cuerpo.
Mientras ella preparaba un café, me senté en la sala.
La casa estaba tranquila.
Entonces ocurrió algo que no esperaba.
Su perro, que apenas me conocía, caminó despacio hasta donde yo estaba.
No ladró.
No saltó.
No buscó llamar la atención.
Simplemente se acercó, apoyó la cabeza sobre mis piernas y se quedó allí completamente quieto.
Instintivamente comencé a acariciarlo.
Durante unos minutos ninguno de los dos hizo nada más.
Y, curiosamente, no hizo falta.
A veces pensamos que para aliviar la tristeza de alguien hay que encontrar las palabras perfectas.
Pero aquel perro parecía saber algo que muchas veces nosotros olvidamos.
Hay emociones que no necesitan explicaciones.
Solo compañía.
Solo presencia.
Solo la tranquilidad de sentir que, aunque sea por un momento, no estamos completamente solos.
Cuando mi amiga regresó con las tazas de café, sonrió al ver la escena y dijo que su perro tenía la costumbre de acercarse a las personas cuando las notaba tristes o preocupadas.
No sé si realmente era así.
Pero ese día sentí que había recibido uno de los gestos más sinceros que podían regalarme.
Sin preguntas.
Sin consejos.
Sin expectativas.
Solo la silenciosa compañía de un ser que, sin decir una sola palabra, parecía haber entendido exactamente lo que yo necesitaba.

Hello @ladiesofhive community, once again I'm here with a new chapter of Small Things That Sustain Me.
There are days when we don't need answers.
Or advice.
Or comforting phrases meant to convince us that everything will be fine.
There are days when all we need is to feel that someone has chosen to stay by our side.
A few weeks ago, I went to visit a friend.
We had planned to spend some time together and catch up, but I arrived much quieter than usual.
Nothing serious had happened.
I was simply carrying one of those days when the tiredness settles more deeply in the heart than in the body.
While she was preparing some coffee, I sat quietly in the living room.
The house was peaceful.
Then something happened that I wasn't expecting.
Her dog, who barely knew me, slowly walked over.
He didn't bark.
He didn't jump.
He wasn't looking for attention.
He simply came close, rested his head on my legs, and stayed there without moving.
Without thinking, I began to stroke his head.
For a few minutes, neither of us did anything else.
And somehow, that was enough.
Sometimes we believe that helping someone feel better means finding the perfect words.
But that dog seemed to understand something we humans often forget.
Some emotions don't need explanations.
They only need company.
They only need presence.
They only need the comforting feeling that, even for a little while, we are not completely alone.
When my friend returned with the coffee, she smiled at the scene and told me that her dog often approached people whenever he sensed they were sad or worried.
I don't know if that was really true.
But that day, I felt I had received one of the sincerest gestures anyone could offer.
No questions.
No advice.
No expectations.
Just the quiet company of a living being who, without saying a single word, seemed to understand exactly what I needed.
I have discovered that some of the greatest acts of empathy don't come through words.
Sometimes they arrive in silence... and that can sustain us too.
