A Random Day

in Ladies of Hive17 hours ago

I’ve had heel pain for 2 months now. It started as a mild ache after long clinic days. I ignored it like we all do, thinking “it’ll go away.” It didn’t.The worst part became mornings. That first step out of bed felt like stepping on glass. Sharp, stabbing pain right under my heel. It would ease after walking for a bit, but by evening, after standing with patients, the dull throb was back. Barefoot on tile floors at home made it ten times worse. I realized I was limping without even noticing.

Today I finally got an x-ray. I honestly wanted it to show something a spur, a crack, any reason for this daily pain. But the report said “normal study.” No fracture, no obvious spur, nothing.

I felt two things at once: relief that my bones are fine, and frustration because the pain is still very real. As a physiotherapist, I know x-rays don’t show everything. They miss fascia, fat pad, nerves, and inflammation. Most heel pain isn’t bone anyway. So now I’m ruling things out. Plantar fasciitis fits .. morning pain, better with movement, worse after rest. Maybe fat pad thinning from years of barefoot walking at home. Could be tight calves pulling on my heel too.

A normal x-ray isn’t the end. It just means I need to look deeper. I’m starting proper footwear at home, calf stretches before getting up, and icing. I’m also booking an ultrasound next. Two months is enough. Pain with a “normal” scan is still pain.

All the day long I’ve been worried and sad because of my heel pain. It’s been two months of constant aching, and today’s “normal” x-ray didn’t help at all. Instead of answers, I just got more frustration. Every step hurts. Mornings are the worst, and by evening I’m just exhausted from pretending I’m fine. Pain like this doesn’t just sit in your foot it gets into your mood, your patience, your whole day. I was feeling really low today.

Then my sister did something that changed my whole evening. She didn’t ask what was wrong or try to fix my heel. She just ordered my favorite meal to cheer me up: fried rice with chicken chilli dry from our favorite spot, RJ NINJXIA CHINA.

That place is our thing. We’ve been going there for years. Their chicken chilli dry is perfect crispy, spicy, not drowning in sauce, with that smoky wok flavor. And the egg fried rice is just how I like it. Simple, hot, comforting.
When the food arrived, I actually smiled for the first time today. For a few minutes, I wasn’t thinking about the x-ray or the pain or what could be wrong. I was just sitting with my sister, eating something that tastes like home.

It didn’t cure my heel. I know that. I’m still limping, still worried. But it reminded me I’m not dealing with this alone. Sometimes when your body is fighting you, a small act of love from someone else is the best medicine.I’m grateful for her. And for RJ NINJXIA CHINA, honestly. Today, that meal was more than food. It was comfort, care, and a little bit of hope.

I was already feeling a little better after my sister got me fried rice and chicken chilli dry from RJ NINJXIA CHINA. But then she did one more thing she handed me my favorite Bricklane chocolate. It’s not fancy or expensive. It’s simple, cheap, the kind you find at any local shop. But it’s my favorite. I’ve loved it since I was a kid. That familiar taste always feels like comfort.

She didn’t say much. She just passed it to me with a small smile, like she knew exactly what I needed. And honestly, that chocolate did more for my mood than any painkiller could today.

And then, like it was planned, the weather decided to cheer me up too. In the evening, the sky changed. The hot, heavy air turned cool and windy. Dark clouds rolled in fast, and within minutes it was pouring. Heavy rain the kind I love. I love rain. The sound of it on the roof, the way the wind pushes it sideways, the smell of wet earth. It makes the world go quiet. With my heel pain keeping me inside and frustrated, the storm felt like a gift. I sat by the window and just watched. For the first time today, I wasn’t thinking about x-rays or pain. I was just breathing with the rain.

When it finally stopped, everything looked different. The dust was gone. Every green plant in our courtyard looked washed, fresh, and bright like someone turned up the color. Leaves were glossy. The grass looked new. Even the air felt lighter.I love taking nature pictures, so I grabbed my phone and went outside. I didn’t care about my heel for those few minutes. I clicked raindrops hanging on leaves, small plants sparkling, the cloudy sky breaking open with light. Each photo felt like I was collecting little pieces of peace.

My heel still hurts. But my heart feels lighter. Sometimes healing isn’t just physical. Sometimes it’s fried rice, chocolate, rain, and a camera full of green.

Right now its 1:00Am and today i decided to sleep at rooftop of my hostel, under the clear sky. Sky after heavy clouds and rain gives dashing vibes. Its been a long time since i slept under sky. And today cool soft breeze after rain...what can be more good in this scorching heat. I am definitely feeling relaxed. Seems like tonight i am going to have Peaceful sleep. Because no Ac, no aik coolr and no fan can replace fresh natural air....

The air isfresh, the leaves arewashed clean, and the wind keep brushing my face. Even my pain felt quieter for a while. In thismoment, with stars above and cool breeze around me, I finally feeling calm.

I am having pain in the morning too at the heel, mine is plantar fasciitis. Nothing to do with bones. Not sure yours is it the same. Hope you get better.
