Hi Hivians
It's your girl @flawlessDee, I want to share my experience of an event I attended in school.
Last week, our school(University of Uyo) hosted a spectacular Event With a theme"Future of Media and Governance" which left attendees in awe. The event was a resounding success, featuring a range of captivating performances and insightful discussions.
The performances include:
Dance Performance
The event kicked off with a high-energy dance performance that set the tone for the rest of the day. The dancers' precision and steps were infectious, getting the audience on their feet and dancing along. The choreographed routine was a perfect blend of modern and traditional moves, showcasing the students' talent and creativity.
Spoken Word
Next up was a powerful spoken word performance that left the audience spellbound. The poet's words were laced with emotion, passion, and conviction, tackling themes of identity, information dissemination, and personal growth. The performance was a testament to the impact of spoken word on our lives and society.
Award Presentation
The highlight of the day was the award presentation ceremony, where outstanding students were recognized for their achievements. The awards acknowledged students' hard work and dedication to various fields, including academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. The ceremony was a celebration of excellence and a reminder that hard work and perseverance pay off.
I didn't receive an award tho but I was happy for them.
Seminar
The seminar segment of the event featured thought-provoking discussions on topics relevant to students' lives. The speakers shared valuable insights and experiences, offering practical advice on how to navigate the challenges of Social media, information dissemination, the benefits and harms of social media, and also the negative effects of spreading wrong/false information. The speaker further advised the students on how to use social media wisely and cautiously.
He also emphasized that Media has a crucial role to play in Governance.
My Duty
It was a privilege for me to do what I love to do, I was an usher at the event, As an Usher, colleagues and I ensured there was a perfect sitting arrangement where invitees were separated from the Host and Dignitaries.
In conclusion
The Director of Information Event was a resounding success, showcasing the talents and achievements of our students. The event demonstrated the importance of creativity, self-expression, and community engagement. As we look forward to future events, we are reminded of the impact that such gatherings can have on our lives and our school community.
