"Stop and smell the roses" is a popular idiom advising you to slow down, relax, and appreciate the simple beauties of life instead of rushing through it.The exact origin of the phrase is widely debated, but it is frequently attributed to the professional golfer Walter Hagen, who wrote in his 1956 autobiography (The Walter Hagen Story), "You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry, and be sure to smell the flowers along the way."
